Inside Kelsey Grammer’s turbulent life of drug addiction and shark deaths

The actor had a great success on US sitcoms Cheers and Frasier- , but his life was ruined by tragedies off-screen.
Kelly Grammer explains to Graham Norton what inspired him to write the recognizable voice that he calls Sideshow Bob.
Fans of Kelsey Grammer’s anticipation of her return to the MCU’s upcoming movie has been enthralled.
Kelsey’s last appearance in the MCU was in The Marvels, during which their character Hank McCoy was revealed to be part of an adjacent universe.
The Frasier star will appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
Fan-favourites Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are returning as Thor and Loki while Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are returning as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man is also making a comeback for the movie, alongside David Harbour’s Red Guardian and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.
Kelsey’s acting career includes a number of awards, but his most notable accomplishment is her portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane, a Seattle-based radio shrink who offers guidance to troubled listeners.
Away from the screen, noone’s life history could be more troubled than Kelsey’s.
When Avengers Doomsday is released, the 70-year-old actor will contribute to creating a fantastic fantasy world while his own life would make the most eerie horror film.
So much tragedy has befallen Kelsey enduring the violent deaths of those closest to him.
These include his father, who was shot to death by a madman, his sister was brutally raped and murdered and his two half brothers who were eaten by sharks. He also carries with him the scars of a broken childhood, three failed marriages, several miscarriages, a heart attack and a recurring battle with drink and drugs.
It’s no wonder his grandfather once confided in him that his family had been cursed, just a few years before he himself passed away from cancer. Yet despite all the misfortune, Kelsey’s four decades-long career has never faltered and, as one of America’s greatest comedy actors, he never lost the ability to make us laugh.

In 2019 the legendary actor, who has won five Primetime Emmys, three Golden Globes and on Tony award, starred in legal drama, Proven Innocent.
After her brother and her own attorneys were wrongly found guilty of the murder of her best friend, the story is about an attorney who makes an effort to prove her own innocence.
At the time, he was attempting to stop the men who had murdered his sister from being imprisoned.
Karen was 18 when she was forced into a car by four men, who raped her for four hours before dumping her in a trailer park and stabbing her to death in 1975.
The ringleader, Freddie Glenn, was on parole six years ago after two of her killers’ death sentences were commuted to life sentences.
At his last parole hearing in 2009, Kelsey intervened with an emotional statement, telling the board: “She was so smart and good and decent. We could have a long conversation. I was unable to protect her because I was supposed to.
” It very nearly destroyed me. The suffering resurfaced when we learned that this man might be granted parole.
Indeed, he could have been discussing his own family turmoil when he mentioned his television show Proven Innocent. And they bend and manipulate the truth to show that their version of the story is the truth.
“And that’s why justice is so crucial because of it.” Nothing can thus obscure the truth, and all of us strive to achieve that. The truth”.
The world first heard of Kelsey in 1984, when he arrived in season 3 of hit TV series Cheers as psychiatrist Dr Frasier Crane, staying until the series finale in season 11.

where they took turns
From 1993 to 2004, he remained as the actor who played the doctor as Frasier, a well-known spinoff series.
However, his path to success took a difficult one, beginning when his parents divorced at the age of two, and he and Karen were taken out of their San Francisco, US, home to be raised by their mother and grandfather in New Jersey.
Their grandfather died from cancer aged 63 when he was just 12.
Then, two years later, a man who had conned him outside of his house at night by lighting his car shot him dead.
However, Arthur Niles, a man, was later found not guilty of murder and taken to a mental health facility.
After the back-to-back tragedies, Kelsey decided to focus on his love of performing and attended Pine Crest preparatory school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before applying to the prestigious Julliard School of performing arts in New York.
But even worse happened when Karen, a 20-year-old, was taken from the Red Lobster restaurant in Colorado and employed as a waitress.
She was taken four hours of rape by her attackers at her apartment.
They then put a cloth over her head, promising to take her home, but instead took her to trailer park where they stabbed her in the back and neck before leaving her to die.
Before she could ring the doorbell, she collapsed and died on the porch of a nearby home.
A week after Karen was brutally murdered, Kelsey was forced to visit Colorado Springs to find the body.
Of all the tragedies that had befell him, losing his sister and only sibling hit Kelsey the hardest, and he later admitted he “lost it. I gave up trying to find a reason to be alive.
Kelsey stopped attending classes and started using alcohol and drugs shortly after graduating from Julliard.
He later told Oprah that his first bouts of alcoholism were fuelled by the depression he felt because of her murder.
He responded, “I liked it. It made me feel good, too. Maybe it was because I was running away from the feelings that weren’t, you know, as comfortable as I wanted them to do be, and maybe I do have a self-destructive part of me”.
In the early 1980s, he reprised his acting career, playing Stephen Smith in the Kennedy miniseries, and eventually made his way back to reality.
But just as his family was beginning to prosper, two of his half brothers were also affected by tragedy once more.
Stephen and Billy Grammer were scuba diving off the coast of St Thomas in June 1980, when Stephen tragically suffered an embolism after surfacing too quickly, but no one knows what happened to Billy.
He was most likely eaten by sharks, according to rescuers.
Kelsey’s big break came in 1984 with the sitcom Cheers, but he continued to suffer from bouts of alcoholism and addiction to drugs and over the years had a number of brushes with the law.
Between 1988 and 1991, he was detained three times for using cocaine and driving while intoxicated, and he served one jail term of 30 days.
The actor’s success onscreen was unaffected, and by 2001, he was earning $ 700,000 per Frasier episode.
Away from the screen, though, Kelsey’s love life was tainted with the same bad luck he had by now grown used to.
He met dancer Doreen Alderman in 1982, and they soon got married, and Spencer became the father of Spencer.
After a one-night stand with a make-up artist, Kelsey and her daughter Kandace were divorced in 1990.
Two years later, he married a former exotic dancer, Leigh-Anne Cshuany, but their relationship quickly turned toxic, and Kelsey claimed she would spit in his face, tear up pictures of his loved ones and even threaten to kill him.
When Csuhany was three months pregnant, he ended up divorcing her, leading to the miscarriage of their baby. Soon after, in 1995, Kelsey was hit by damaging claims of statutory rape of his child’s babysitter in 1995, as she was only 15 at the time. The grand jury decided not to indict him, despite the fact that the case was going to go to trial.
After years of abuse, legal issues, and dramas in his personal life, Kelsey finally decided to check himself in the Betty Ford Center in 1996.
But tragedy seemed to be just around the corner.
David Angel, Kelsey’s close friend and former Frasier producer, passed away in the terrorist attacks of 2001. On American Airlines Flight 11, the first aircraft to strike the World Trade Center, Angell and his wife Lynn were flying.
Another failed marriage and another miscarriage followed, after in August 1997 he married former Playboy model Camille Donatacci.
Before the couple divorced in 2010, the couple eventually had two children, both of whom were surrogates. While Kelsey cited “irreconcilable differences” Camille claimed it was because he was cross-dresser.
The actor suffered a sudden heart attack while paddleboarding on vacation in Hawaii during his marriage to Camille in 2008. Kelsey later revealed that his heart had stopped completely and that he was just a few minutes away from passing away, despite his representatives’ claims that it was a mild heart attack.
He later told Oprah that his near death experience “was a good event in my life” because it forced him change his lifestyle and confront the tragedies that had marked his life. He said, “I just put that pain] where it used to be: in the past.
However, there have been some tragic deaths, and it’s a pain you can always experience again because it’s with you 24/7.

Former air stewardess 25 his junior Kelsey and British Kayte Walsh, who he married in 2011, have a long-lasting relationship.
As well as new drama Proven Innocent, he is also set to star in 1965 musical Man Of La Mancha at the West End.
But he admits that the “family curse” his grandfather had warned him about is never far away from his mind, even though he appears to be at peace with himself, content in love, and content with a rebirth in his already magnificent career.
Telling the Daily Mail he frets if his loved ones don’t call him, he said: “I get nervous something horrible has happened.
