Jesy Nelson has welcomed her ‘healthy’ twin baby girls with her partner Zion Foster, after spending the last 10 weeks in hospital ahead of their arrival. The proud parents, who have named their daughters Ocean and Story, have been on quite the journey to bringing their twins into the world, with Jesy’s pregnancy filled with worrying scans and a rare condition.

The 33-year-old former Little Mix star confirmed that she had given birth to her twin daughters earlier this week on Instagram on May 18, 2018. The proud parents could be seen holding their daughters, who were born two months early, in the post.

Our gorgeous baby girls decided to come at 31 weeks plus 5 days, Jesy wrote in the caption. We are so fortunate to have them here with us, healthy, and fighting strong because it all happened so quickly! Never have we experienced love like this. Meet Story Monroe and Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster, both of whom are both in good health. Born on 15.05.2025″.

We’ve taken a look back at the singer’s turbulent and heartfelt pregnancy journey, which she documented every step of the way as Jesy and Zion, 26, prepare for the new parents…

news about pregnancy

In an Instagram post, Jesy confirmed her pregnancy on January 12 and that she was expecting twins. She and Zion were pictured in the post, and he was standing behind her while cradling her baby bump.

Jesy made a joke about the photo, saying, “She’s eating for three now.” Jesy also explained to fans that she was constantly vomiting when she was just beginning her pregnancy, and that there were many well-wishes on the platform.

Rare condition

Jesy shared on March 5 that she was pregnant with Mono/Di twins, short for Monochorionic Diamniotic (MCDA), and was concerned about losing one or both of her children. Her twins only had one placenta, but they were also in their own amniotic sac, despite the fact that most twins have two.

Jesy also confirmed that she had pre-stage twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), which is a rare condition that “can lead to a lot of complications.” The Twins Trust describes TTTS as a “rare but life-threatening condition that affects 10% to 15% of identical twins who share a placenta” and “can have serious consequences.”

The expecting mother explained, “We are having identical twins, which is so exciting, and we are just like, we can’t believe it. However, having identical twins is problematic because of the difficulties they present.

“Mono/Di twins are the type of twins we are getting, and typically, the majority of twins will have two placentas that they feed off of.” However, having Mono/Di twins means that each of your twins can have their own complications.

One baby being one baby and the other being the other, which is awful to say, could cause both babies to pass away, and I am currently being monitored very closely because I am currently pre-stage TTTS, a twin to twin transfusion, is currently taking.

Best chance of survival

Jesy and Zion expressed regret over their hospital stay and the procedure that would give their unborn children “the best chance of surviving” on Instagram a few days later, on March 8.

An emotional Jesy explained in the video, “We are just giving you an update on our situation. So lately, I’ve been feeling a little ill. Been experiencing some of the symptoms I need to be on the lookout for, such as struggling to breathe and my belly tightening. So we basically went into the hospital today to check things out. Just in case. And sadly, the symptoms have gotten worse, forcing us to undergo the procedure, which is obviously not what we wanted to happen.

“But it’s necessary because it’ll give our children the best chance of surviving,” he said. So, we’re just waiting to enter, so yeah. And all we’re doing is praying and hoping for the best, really. I’m ashamed. I’m absolutely devastated because I had hoped this situation wouldn’t even exist.

Jesy then cried as her partner, Zion, appeared to comfort her while jenning the statement, “They’re doing it give us the best chance. The best chance for our children. Jesy continued, “Yeah, like that’s why they follow this protocol. Because there are so many possible things, it literally gives you the best chance of your childsurviving.

Operation in an emergency

Jesy stated in an update on Mother’s Day (30 March) that the procedure had resulted in some “amazing news.” Before saying, “The TTTS has cleared up, the operation was a success which is just absolutely incredible, she explained that they were still in the hospital as she recovered.” We have the most amazing doctors, and we are so, so fortunate. My cervix is very, very short, so I can’t leave the hospital because my waters could break at any point and I’m still very, very early, which is basically the current situation.

She continued, “So yeah, I can’t leave the hospital until a certain number of weeks.” Although we pray that the babies will stay in my belly each week, we are also so appreciative that they are still here, that they are still developing, and that we are also appreciative of that.

ten weeks of hospitalization

Due to her high-risk pregnancy, the former Little Mix star spent 10 weeks in the hospital, but thankfully, her pregnancy has continued since the operation. Despite being in a hospital, she remained in touch with fans, asking for advice on how to dye her hair, and giving details about a pampering session she had while her twins were waiting.

Zion sweetly claimed that it had brought him and Jesy closer together despite the difficulty of keeping him in the hospital for so long. He later admitted that “the same four walls are driving us a little crazy.”

We have figuratively developed a deeper understanding of one another. And I believe we are fully aware of our shared concern for one another.

When you truly, truly understand what love you have and what your relationship means, I believe that is when you do. And I believe Jess and I just learned that we are genuinely made for each other because of this.

They are so brave, they claim.

Jesy and Zion were photographed holding new scans of her twins, holding new black and white images, and sharing a number of black and white images on May 4. She added a heart emoji to the post’s title, “Muma Nelson and Papa Foster.”

Zion had previously stated about the twins in her only interview since giving the impression that they would emerge healthy. The twins and Jesy have accomplished a lot. We doubted that we would get to where we are now because of how many times during this pregnancy.

Their strength is unmatched, they claim. Because of how much they have overcome, we figuratively feel like we are already familiar with them. They have such strong characters. They are very brave.
