An expert believes there is a way back in time thanks to Brooklyn Beckham’s Monday night Instagram bombshell, even though he may have been permanently barred from Lady Victoria and Sir David’s empire.
Brooklyn Beckham’s Monday night Instagram bombshell may have destroyed any remaining ties between himself, Victoria, David, and his siblings, but an expert believes there is a way to rebuild them.
Brooklyn’s Instagram story read: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
It comes after a string of stories about the Beckham’s eldest son being controlled by his billionaire wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham. The 26-year-old branded the narrative “deeply misogynistic”, telling his friends he won’t stand for her being “vilified.”
Brooklyn uncovered the disconnect in an 821-word post, saying, “My parents have controlled the narratives about our family in the press.” I was born into a life filled with performative social media posts, family events, and fake relationships.
I’ve recently witnessed with my own eyes how frequently they lie in the media, largely at the expense of innocent people, to maintain their own facade. But I think truth is always revealed.
“My wife controls me in a completely different way,” my wife said. My parents have controlled me most of my life. I had a lot of anxiety growing up.
I don’t want to have a family, I say. For the first time in my life, I’m standing up for myself instead of being controlled. That anxiety has vanished for the first time in my life since I left my family.
Despite what seems like a final indictment on his life for the past 26 years, with Brooklyn saying “I do not want to reconcile with my family,” Phil Macleod, Hypnotherapist, Mental Health Expert and Founder of Thought Reader, told The Mirror there is one way Brooklyn could repair the relationship.
We work with both the conscious and subconscious mind to unpack these emotional layers, according to Macleod.
The aim is not to assign blame, but to understand what is driving the feelings beneath the behavior, and to help people see situations more clearly, with less emotional weight attached, as Macleod noted when trying to repair relationships in a transparent and pointed manner.
The key to letting go and moving on is to let go of a situation, rather than to feel trapped between letting go and giving in. Perhaps this is Brooklyn’s attempt to overcome his sense of isolation from a dysfunctional family.
Members of my family informed me that Nicola was “not blood and’not family,” according to the eldest Beckham, who wrote: “The night before our wedding.” I’ve been the target of constant attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press at their will ever since I started fighting for myself and my family.
“Even my brothers sent me to attack me on social media, before they obliterated me completely this summer.”
Brooklyn may have already spoken out on his social media, according to Macleod, adding that “public actions like this frequently signal not a desire for conflict but rather a need for emotional release and validation.”
This provides them with this freedom and the chance to grow and rebuild with less emotion or resentment because it is frequently the only avenue that people see.
In the end, one can only hope that the families will eventually be able to communicate privately, extending the olive branch and making all family members feel valued, heard, and respected in the family dynamics.
Brooklyn’s final words, however, suggest that he is content with his decision, saying, “I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”
According to Macleod, “misunderstandings can develop when healthy coping mechanisms or clear communication fail to work.”
Everyone genuinely believes that their own viewpoint is the “truth,” and each person’s recall of events can vary greatly.
Brooklyn claimed that his mother bullied his wedding plans in a particularly grotesque instance.
My parents have tried incessantly to break us up since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped, Brooklyn wrote. Despite how excited she was to wear her design, my mother had to rush out and buy Nicola’s dress.
But, in a resurfaced interview with Vogue, bridal stylist Leslie Fremar claimed the dress Nicola ultimately wore was a year in the making.
The custom wedding look was “the culmination of a year’s worth of conversations with Valentino director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s team,” according to the article, which was released in April 2022. Valentino’s HQ was visited twice this year in Rome, and two fittings took place in the US.
Brooklyn alleges that his mother threw his wife’s first dance and “inappropriately” danced with him in front of 500 people at their Florida wedding.
He wrote, “Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where my wife and I were scheduled to do our romantic dance, but instead my mother was waiting to join us. In front of everyone, she danced very inappropriately on me.
In my entire life, I have never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated. We wanted to exchange our vows so that we could make brand-new wedding day memories that would not cause anxiety and embarrassment.
According to Macleod, these various interpretations of events can eventually lead to feelings of frustration, distance, and separation without any hope of resolving the conflict.
He continued, “This only gets worse when the family is exposed in the media.”
Sir David refrained from contacting the media today regarding his son’s shocking Instagram statement.
