‘I’m a winner and a fighter’ – Burnley boss Parker ‘feeling pressure’

Scott Parker, the manager of Burnley, says he will “keep bouncing back” despite feeling “the pressure” of trying to keep the club in the Premier League.

The Clarets, who made a comeback from defeat in their opening 16 games in June, are 19th in the standings, six points clear of safety.

For the first 20 years of my career, Parker said, “I feel the pressure every time I’m sat in this position.”

No one will ever ask me a question or the person who asked the question, or the owner who asked the question, to put more pressure on me than I put on myself, so there is no one.

There has always been pressure, and I’ve always been a winner and a fighter throughout my career and life. That is exactly how it is.

“Pressure is something you learn to deal with, and it’s also that fear and pressure at times, because fear is something that, without a doubt, absolutely drives,”

Since winning at bottom club Wolves on October 26th, Parker’s side has suffered a terrible run of seven straight defeats, with all three of their defeats coming from a single goal against Fulham, Newcastle, and Crystal Palace.

Following last weekend’s 3-2 reverse against the Cottagers, with boos ringing out all over the ground at full time, a section of the Turf Moor crowd publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation.

Parker continued, “I don’t think it’s justified, but I do understand it because of the world we live in,” Parker continued.

“I don’t get it,” I said. In four months, you won’t have a bad coach.
