Jake Hackney, the TV writer behind The Hunger Games, has managed to secure a Netflix and Sky TV subscription for 50p per day ahead of its debut.

This method is used by Netflix users to watch Bridgerton, Squid Game, and more.

It’s been a big week for Netflix as the streamer finally dropped the first trailer for Stranger Things season five. On Wednesday, exactly nine years and one day after the sci-fi series first aired, Netflix gave fans their first-look at its final chapter.

The group, which includes Milklie Bobby Brown, returns for “one last adventure,” each with a single objective: to find and kill Vecna, as depicted in the video. Volumes one through four of Season Four will debut on November 27, followed by volumes two through five to seven on Boxing Day and the final installment on New Year’s Day.

Since season four seems like it’s been ages, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noticed their interest waning over time. However, after watching the new trailer this week, I’m happy to report that Netflix has successfully re-entered my interest.

The excitement surrounding the new season is growing, and it will undoubtedly continue to grow throughout the rest of the year. Many fans are likely looking for alternative ways to get a cheap Netflix subscription in light of this.

Earlier this year, the streamer raised its subscription fees yet again, with its entry-level Standard with Ads tier now costing £5.99 per month. However, as a TV and tech writer, it’s my job to find ways to watch all the latest series while keeping costs down, and I know how to get Netflix and Sky TV for 50p per day.

With Sky, you can use Netflix for nothing.

With its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan, Sky is offering a free Netflix subscription.

The deal comes directly from Sky, which includes a free Netflix subscription with TV packages like the Essential TV bundle. For £15 per month, this provides free Netflix access, more than 100 channels including Sky Atlantic and a Discovery+ subscription. When breaking it down, this works out at 50p per day over a 30-day period.

The subscription period for the bundle is 24 months, which means those signing up can get a two-year Netflix subscription. Members typically pay £9,01 for 100 TV channels and Discovery+ with Netflix Standard with Adverts, which is typically available for £5.99 when they sign up directly.

For those who prefer ad-free viewing, Netflix Standard or Premium is available for an additional £6 or £11, respectively. Additionally, Sky allows users who already subscribe to keep the same account without paying twice.

Sky isn’t the only provider to tempt customers with free Netflix access, as Virgin Media also includes a free subscription with its own TV packages. However, although they include much more, they also come with a higher price tag.

The cheapest package that comes with Netflix is the £64.99 Biggest Combo bundle; usually priced at £78.99, this also comes with more than 200 TV channels, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and 516Mbps fibre broadband. However, one downside to both Sky and Virgin’s plans is that they both increase their prices every April in an inflation-linked rise.

In the coming 24 months, the price paid is likely to increase twice. Although Sky has yet to say how much its prices will increase in April 2026, it did this year experience a 6.2% increase, so we could see something similar the following year.
