Twitch streamer Angry Ginge will make his debut on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity later tonight, and after finding fame on social media he has racked up an impressive net worth

Angry Ginge has racked up a huge fortune since finding fame. The social media star will make his debut on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Currently, the 23-year-old is the bookies’ favourite to win the programme, which will see him compete alongside the likes of Lisa Riley, Ruby Wax OBE, Martin Kemp, his pal Aitch and Jack Osbourne.

The influencer, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, has been extremely open about his humble upbringing in Salford, where he grew up with just his mum. But how has the guy who started his career in a “s***hole” flat he rented, with no shower and peeling wallpaper, managed to rack up a small fortune?

In the last year alone, he’s predicted to have made an impressive fortune between £804,000 and £1.1 million – just from social media. A far cry from his first-ever Twitch stream.

Morgan launched his career five years ago on the streaming platform, where users can watch and broadcast live videos, often video game content. Here, they can earn money from subscriptions, adverts and Bits, a virtual currency which can be used to support creators.

His first video, in which he streamed FIFA in October 2020, drew inspiration from Castro1021. But he peaked at just 40 viewers in his first stream, banking a small sum of £12.44. Several months after launching his channel, he took a break as he had averaged between six and seven viewers. But a year later, he returned with a regular streaming schedule during the week and went on to amass a huge number of subscribers.

He also ventured onto other platforms, including YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. On Twitch alone, he boasts almost 1.5 million followers, a staggering 883,000 subscribers on YouTube, 1.3million followers on Instagram and nearly two million on TikTok.

Speaking previously about his success, Morgan told indy100: “I think it’s gone down well because people can relate that I’ve come from the same place they’ve come from. I’ve come from a council estate and I know what they go through and have been through and can bond with them and get to know them more on a personal level.”

Morgan saved £350 to rent the flat where his career started, a place he called “the pub” as fans were baffled as to whether he really lived there. Sharing a video of his old room, which had no handle on the door, he revealed the mould and damp across the walls and ceiling.

The blue carpet was covered in dampness as he gave fans another look at the room. He reflected on his career. Away from streaming, Angryginge has made a name for himself for helping causes, including Soccer Aid for UNICEF. This summer, he appeared alongside Louis Tomlinson, Wayne Rooney, Toni Duggan and Jill Scott, raising millions to help disadvantaged people across the world.

Speaking about signing up for I’m A Celeb, Angry Ginge said: “When I got approached to be on I’m A Celebrity…, I said ‘yes’ immediately because it’s a bucket list item. I’ve watched the show on the sofa with my mum ever since I was a kid. To take part in it this year is something I couldn’t pass up on.

“But my whole life is spent on the phone. I’ve been away once for a week. And so, two to three weeks without it is going to be very educational to see how I will do!”
