After being filmed singing the controversial “Feed the Scousers” chant at Manchester United’s game against Everton in November 2023, the I’m a Celebrity star apologized in public.

This I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant was compelled to make a public apology after he was caught on camera singing an offensive chant. The ardent Manchester United supporter was unveiled as one of the 10 participants for the latest series of the ITV jungle show, following his rise to fame through online streaming.

His breakthrough into mainstream media came after a standout performance in the Sidemen charity match, leading to his Soccer Aid debut at Old Trafford – just months before being selected for I’m a Celeb alongside his good mate and rapper Aitch. Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was known for filming himself at United games, but one particular clip sparked a significant backlash.

On his YouTube channel, the Baller League manager frequently shares videos of his adventures playing Sunday League football and managing his Winton Yanited team.

During United’s 3-0 victory over Everton in November 2023, Ginge recorded himself participating in the contentious ‘Feed the Scousers’ chant in the away end – a video that garnered millions of views. The chant, set to the melody of the Christmas charity single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ by Band Aid in 1984, makes light of food poverty.

After discussing with his Liverpudlian friends and comprehending the significance of the chant, Ginge, who was raised on a council estate and raised by his mother and nan, apologized on his social media platforms.

He wrote, “I just saw the tweets that are being circulated about the chant I sang at the Everton game.” I’m so sorry I sang that song; I was distracted by what the song’s lyrics actually meant.

Some of my fellow scorers have informed me that it’s making fun of poverty, and I want to apologize if I sang it. I grew up in that environment, lived on a council estate, and ate £1 microwave meals every night.

“I have no idea what you’re going through, and I’m sorry, but I just got caught up with it.” I’m so sorry for being honest, and I fully understand my anger because it’s wrong because I didn’t intend to do it.

Sporting his signature red Lightning McQueen crocs, Ginge had viewers in stitches from the very first episode. In the episode, he triumphed in a challenge to secure a place in the ‘luxury getaway car’ alongside Aitch, Eddie Kadi and Jack Osbourne.

When they arrived at camp, the foursome who won the game were treated to steak for dinner and upscale beds. In an effort to win meals for camp, Giggling has been chosen for the very first bushtucker trial, with both he and Ruby Wax participating in the first eating challenge at “The Divey.” Due to a new rule introduced for this year’s show, he will be exempt from the following trial if he is chosen to take a second one in a row.

Angry Ginge is capturing the hearts of a new generation during his stint in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, and his latest confession about being sober has even more people praising him.

Someone wrote in the comments, “I loved the discussion about sobriety (as someone is over two years in) and how they were all so open and honest about it. Hopefully it will help a younger person as well”!

Another boasted that “the younger male population is incredibly deserving of angry ginge.” He has a fantastic role model and is a part of a very well-known television program. Both of my daughters are typically too cool to watch boys (18 andamp; 20) having relationships. Both are LOCKED IN to watch Angry Ginge, and I totally agree with what you say.

And a third person described him as “absolutely brilliant.” My 14-year-old son is utterly in love with him. and has actually watched my show with me. He rarely leaves his room on its own. Both Ginge and Aitch, both excellent role models for young men and adolescent boys, are absolute sweethearts.
