As Angry Ginge heads into the I’m A Celeb jungle, he’s already arrived with a chaotic backstory – from f1 trouble to football drama, here’s a look back at the moment you may have missed.

Before stepping into the Australian jungle for his debut on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Here! Angry Ginge was already a popular Twitch streamer, known for chaotic moments and crazy antics. His mischievous acts would often get him into a spot of trouble, long before causing a stir about campfires with rapper Aitch and personality Jack Osbourne.

The 23-year-old, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, built a loyal following with his loud, unfiltered streams, but heading into the jungle means a whole new audience will be seeing him outside of his internet persona for the very first time.

For those who are newly acquainted with Angry Ginge, here’s a look back to some of his wildest moments before the jungle

F1 arrest

Earlier this year, Angry Ginge got himself in trouble at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone while hanging out with fellow creators Charlie Clark known as Chazza and Sam Ham. During practice day, Chazza attempted to squeeze inside the cockpit of a formula one car on display – which as you can imagine, escalated quickly.

All three were arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of causing £30,000 of criminal damage but were later released without charge.

Angry Ginge spent the night in a cell and later said he was “genuinely traumatised” by the experience. The trio were also banned from attending the rest of the race weekend.

At the time, a Northamptonshire Police spokesperson said: “On Friday, July 4, Northamptonshire Police received a report that a classic Formula 1 car on display at Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix event had sustained several thousands of pounds worth of damage, which was alleged to have been caused by someone accessing the display stand and climbing into the vehicle.

“Officers carried out initial inquiries, and suspects were identified. Three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a vehicle and taken into police custody.

“Following a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident, all three men were released with no further action.”

Angry Ginge addressed the incident on a live stream, saying: “For sitting in a car, they got us, you don’t do that at F1. They locked us up for watching somebody else sitting in a car – they locked SamHam up for watching somebody else sit in a car. They locked Chazza up for sitting in a car, criminal damage, they tried to say. 30 grand, they tried to say…”

Tough tackles at Soccer Aid

Angry Ginge made a name for himself during this year’s Soccer Aid match, lining up for England as centre-back against a stacked Rest of the World team.

In the final minutes, he launched into a tough tackle on Argentinian legend Carlos Tevez leaving Angry Ginge with a gash down his leg and sparking sharp words between the pair.

After the match he posted: “Cheers Tevez, t***,” before later winding the ex-United star up on stream, singing a twist on Zombie with, “In your head, in your head, Tevez, Tevez…”

But he also admitted Tevez actually had the last laugh, adding: “I will be honest, he did score four.”

Manchester United celebration blunder

Another viral moment came when Angry Ginge couldn’t resist celebrating Manchester United’s last-minute equaliser against Spurs, but this was right next to injured Tottenham midfielder James Maddison.

As the goal went in, Angry Ginge jumped to his feet and filmed Maddison’s reaction, prompting the England star to push his phone away.

However the pair squashed it after full-time, shaking hands, and they’ve crossed paths before – including collaborating on a “dream five-a-side” video almost two years ago.

Influencer rivalry

Angry Ginge’s jump into mainstream TV has reportedly annoyed some creators who’ve been trying to land a spot on the game show for years.

It’s been suggested that some feel ITV keeps choosing rising online names over celebrities with bigger followings with comparisons already being made to last year’s addition of GK Barry.

Whether true or not, it’s clear Angry Ginge’s momentum this year has made him one of the most-watched personalities in that space.

Breaking ITV’s golden rule

Before entering camp, Angry Ginge caused a stir by openly chatting about his jungle stint after landing in Brisbane, something ITV traditionally warns contestants not to do.

He joked to The Sun about being invited by a handful of celebrity pals, including Kelly Brook and Lisa Riley, before teasing that he’d also crossed paths with at least three other campmates.

And when speaking about his close friend Aitch, he said “I’m not the number one fan of his music, but he’s a good guy so it should be fun.”
