I’m A Celeb presenter Joel Dommett is to be a dad again, he revealed tonight as he prepares to host the show’s spin-off series. The 40-year-old comedian and his wife Hannah Cooper announced on Instagram that she was pregnant with their second child. The pair already have a son called Wilde, who appeared in the sweet announcement.
It showed the two-year-old touching his mum’s baby bump, with the caption reflecting his words: “Baby in mumma tummy.” Hannah added: “Hard to keep secrets with a toddler around.” The couple were quickly congratulated by their famous pals, with Emily Attack writing simply: “WAHHHHHHHHHH.”
Joel, who also fronts The Masked Singer, told the Mirror this week that he is following in the footsteps of main show host Dec Donnelly, who also usually moves his entire family over for the duration of the show, and taking the whole gang to Australia.
He said: “This year I’m taking my family with me, so it’s going to be great getting home from work and being able to see them and Wilde learning how to swim and all of that stuff. I’m really excited for them to be there. Hopefully I can enjoy a bit of family time before I have to go to bed at 3pm in the afternoon.”
Joel added that he will be glad to have his wife with him, saying he struggles by himself. The star admitted: “Every year halfway through the run, I realise I’ve run out of clothes and I have to go to the nearest town to buy lots of stuff. I never take enough, my wife despairs at my packing. At some point, you have to understand that you have to wash your pants and do a washing run every five days.”
Joel and Hannah have I’m A Celeb history – she was a fan of his and slid into his DMs following his 2016 appearance on the show – with the pair going on their first date just days later. He later got a gig hosting the I’m A Celeb spin-off show, and will return to Unpacked, as it is now known, again this year.
Celebrity guests on the show this year will include former Strictly and jungle star Seann Walsh, Lioness Jill Scott and former King of the Jungle Sam Thompson.
Guests on this year’s I’m A Celeb were tonight confirmed by ITV as including Kelly Brook, Ruby Wax, Martin Kemp, Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, and TV star Alex Scott. They will be joined by Jack Osbourne, Shona McGarty and internet star Angry Ginge. Rapper Aitch and comedian Eddie Kadi complete the set.
