In response to Swansea City’s interest, Adam Idah’s departure from Celtic is “very close,” according to Parkhead manager Brendan Rodgers.
Due to future rumors, the Republic of Ireland striker was dropped from Rodgers’ Celtic squad for Sunday’s Old Firm game at Ibrox.
“It’s close. He told BBC Scotland’s Sportsound before the match that he was not present because the situation is “very close.”
Not just in the center forward position, but rather a number of players is required. I’m optimistic that the front line will receive the reinforcements we need in the next 24 hours.
After his side won comfortably at Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea manager Alan Sheehan had stated he could not comment on Idah’s pursuit of the club and instead praised Zan Vipotnik.
Idah’s signing by Swansea came on the heels of Swansea’s initial expectations, only for the Glasgow giants to postpone the deal.
Before the transfer deadline on Monday, it’s thought Vipotnik might be traded to make room for Idah.
Sheehan said he would “like to think” the Slovenian forward will stay at the club after the Swansea win 2-0 at Hillsborough after Vipotnik scored for the third time in as many games.
Swansea’s head coach expressed his “absolute delight” with him right now.
His performance in the Sheffield Wednesday game, which he scored three times, was outstanding.
On Wednesday, Vipotnik made his first league start of the year and fired home Swansea’s opener before Ronald headed in the second goal.

Vipotnik, 23, has had his best year of form since arriving in Wales in 2024, with Swansea having to pay a sizable fee to secure Idah’s services.
Celtic’s desire to find a replacement before approving the former Norwich City player’s departure has stalled Idah’s proposed move to the Championship club.
Sheehan said, “I think if you ask Celtic potentially, you’d get the answer to that question. “When it was suggested whether Idah’s move would only happen once Celtic signed a forward.
“I am unable to speak for Celtic.” Every Swansea fan who came to Hillsborough, every staff member, and every player is speaking in my name.
