The owner of a London-based film studio has spoken with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars about what it’s like to work there.
A British director has revealed what it’s really like to work with stars like Benedict Cumberbatch, Renee Zellweger, and Anthony Hopkins.
Frank Khalid OBE is well-versed in socializing with Hollywood’s elite. The 56-year-old owner of the UK’s most environmentally conscious production studio has a number of acclaimed blockbusters and TV shows, including Killing Eve, Ted Lasso, and Bridget Jones’s Baby.
The owner of West London Film Studios Parkside, Anthony Hopkins, called him “a bit of a joker.” He made the noises from his character in “The Silence of the Lambs” while sneaking behind my receptionist, scaring her one day.
He continued, “Renee Zellweger has such a big heart.
She noticed that the cast and crew had left a little bit of a mess in the canteen one day, so she helped clean it up with our staff.
West London Film Studios, which was founded in 2014, were established. The Parkside location just next door opened ten years ago. Frank’s state-of-the-art, eco-focused production site, which was built with sustainability in mind, cost an incredible £30 million.
It has ten engines that can produce power up to three megawatts, each housed in a substation. A one megawatt battery backup system supplies power to the studio at all times, keeping it safe from blackouts and energy surges.
Benedict Cumberbatch “loves how we’re the greenest studio in the UK,” Benedict said, and Idris Elba claimed he was really impressed that we generate electricity from home.
Numerous actors who worked for the renowned studio have gone on to earn awards, including prestigious Oscars. He remarked, “Having these big names] film at our studio is amazing.”
He continued, “I’m hoping to get Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio in the future.” It’s only a matter of time, I believe.
After showing interest several years ago, Frank is also interested in choosing Marvel to work for him. He’s currently concentrating on establishing himself as a top production company with an environmental conscience.
He said, “I built this from scratch, but my prior experience includes restaurants, wedding venues, and cash and carry.”
The council resisted the purchase of the building as a rental and decided to convert it into a hotel, which the council later opted to keep as a movie studio. I realized that I had a unique opportunity to develop something that the industry needed.
Because it is important, we left a lot of the land as green landscaping, wildflowers, greenery, and open space.
