After winning the first celebrity edition of The Traitors, Alan Carr has made some light of Claudia Winkleman’s stark off-screen persona.
Celebrity Traitors star Alan Carr has shared what Claudia Winkleman is really like behind the scenes. The presenter has hosted the UK version of The Traitors for four years, as well as the celebrity edition last year. Prior to joining the show, Claudia was best known for her co-hosting role on Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly.
Often seen as the less serious of the presenting duo, Claudia was regularly spotted laughing with the stars in the ‘Claudatorium’. Fans also got to see more of her personality when she fronted her own BBC Radio 2 show on Saturdays, from 2021 to 2024.
However, viewers can see Claudia in a completely different light in The Traitors because of a much more serious approach.
Sharing his thoughts on Claudia after winning the celebrity version of the show last year, Alan revealed what she was like off camera. Speaking on the Table Manners podcast alongside Amanda Holden, he said: “I love Claudia,” to which his fellow guest agreed.
The 49-year-old continued to state that she frequently broke character when the cameras weren’t rolling while being serious while filming.
He shared, “She keeps herself to herself in the castle, which you have to do because you can’t]give anything in return.”
“Once you see her, she’ll smile back to you,” she says, “Ouch, Alan, what are you doing?”
The comedian also acknowledged during the conversation that Amanda was the first to call to talk about his show’s experiences.
After convincing the faithfuls, Alan was declared the winner in a final along with Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga.
Despite having signed an NDA, Alan admitted to offloading to Amanda right away after three weeks spent in the castle.
He admitted, “I told her everything when I left The Traitors.”
The Britain’s Got Talent judge continued, “He went, I’m out, I signed an NDA], but do you want to know or not?”
I then said, “I want to know Alan.” I adore gossip, but I never told anyone because I was so afraid to make things up with him, she continued.
No phone or laptop, no way to move it away because Alan said in response, “I had to offload it.”
With only seven players left, the current civilian series of The Traitors is about to come to an end.
On Thursday night, viewers will learn who will be the next victim before the remaining contestants will be forced to commit yet another murder in an effort to find a traitor.
The entire prize pot will be taken from a traitor if they make it to the final without being eliminated. The money will be distributed equally among the finalists, though, if all of them are faithful.
