A photographer who had a haunting last encounter with Rob and Michele Reiner’s mansion just before it turned into a house of horrors recalls his haunting visit.
Just weeks before they were discovered dead in their Los Angeles home, a photographer has revealed his heartbreaking most heartfelt exchange with Rob and Michele Reiner. Rob, 78, a well-known photographer and actor, and his wife Michele, 70, suffered multiple knife wounds last Sunday, with their distraught daughter Romy alleged to be the one who found her father’s body.
Their son, Nick, has been charged on suspicion of murder and is facing a possible life sentence if convicted. Professional photographer Sinna Nasseri had visited the couple’s million-dollar mansion in Brentwood just weeks before the tragedy, taking pictures of Rob for Interview magazine.
Sharing some of the images on Instagram, Sinna wrote how he felt “unsettled” and “strange” knowing he had been in their home just months before their brutal deaths. Posting an array of beautiful photos of Rob in his home that are now haunting to see, he wrote: “Rest in peace Rob and Michele Reiner. Feeling unsettled and strange that I was just in their home a few months ago to take these photographs for @interviewmag.”

Rob had starred in the magazine for their September issue where he discussed some of his most famous films, including The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, and A Few Good Men. He also directed Spinal Tap II: The End Continues – with Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, and Michael McKean reprising their roles as the world’s most clueless rock stars. This marked his final film, being released in September.
Seth Rogen, an actor and comedian who has proclaimed himself a staunch supporter of the late Rob Reiner, hosted the interview. The pair discussed his most recent film, as well as some life lessons he learned while directing some of his biggest hits. Rob’s pool table, rose garden, awards, and fridge-freezer were all depicted in the images taken by famous photographer Sinna.
Sinna continued in his Instagram post, “They showed unusual kindness to me & @negativetoapositive and the entire crew. Rob was drawn to the photo in the stairwell where I asked him to raise his arms in a gesture of pride, even though there were family photos everywhere.
He was “humble” and more concerned with showcasing his rose garden, which Henry Fonda had planted in his place rather than his Emmys. However, the care and love Rob’s wife Michele showed him was one of his most heartfelt moments during his visit.
Before deciding that her husband was in good hands and giving us space, he said, “Michele, a photographer herself, watched me work for the first few shots, clearly protective of her husband.”
Rob and his wife of 36 years, Rob, had three children from their first marriage, and they were married for three more. Jake and Romy Reiner, Rob and Michele’s other children, also known as “Women cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” released a statement in the wake of their deaths.
No one should ever go through the horrifying and heartbreaking loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner. They were our best friends, not just our parents.
Nick, 32, and the couple’s son Nick made a brief appearance in court on December 17 for a hearing. He faces charges of two first-degree murder counts, each with a unique case involving multiple murders.
