A former The Traitors rival has spoken about Claudia Winkleman’s true nature of collaboration when they made their third appearance on the well-known BBC program.
A former T.R.T. contestant has admitted that he was taken aback by Claudia Winkleman’s company. Jake Brown, a top-seeded series three champion who shared the £94,600 prize pot with fellow champion Leanne Quigley, revealed he was taken aback when he learned about Claudia’s personality in person.
When asked by The Sun’s TV Mag if Claudia ever breaks character, he replied: “I was taken aback by how normal she is. Claudia’s one of those celebrities who’s even better than she appears on TV.”
Leanne, a fellow contestant, continued, “Claudia’s the ideal host. She wanted to check in with us, but she had to keep the persona, I believe.
The pair’s comments come ahead of the return of the non-celebrity version of The Traitors, airing on the BBC on New Year’s Day, when a new set of contestants will vie for the big cash prize as either a Traitor or Faithful.
The Traitors has been a smash hit since it first appeared in the UK a few years ago, when it first gained popularity in Europe.
Since 2023, host Claudia has been the show’s beating heart and a key component in its national appeal.
In fact, Claudia, who recently left Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly, says she still remember the early days of the show before it became a massive success.
She also told the publication: “It started with just a gang of us on a train, carrying fingerless red pleather gloves and a few ceremonial pouches, and I like to still think of it as that tiny show…I’m incredibly lucky and grateful. I have to pinch myself every single time.”
Claudia was the first choice to host the program, despite her prowess as host.
Speaking on The Rest is Entertainment podcast, Kate Philips admitted they had been looking at other stars, including a popular Scottish actor, before landing on Claudia.
She acknowledged that “we were examining hosts.” Additionally, I noticed that Alan Cumming was authorized to do the American one. He is a well-known Scottish actor, as you may well know.
“So we did actually ask Alan if he would do it, in full disclosure. However, he was unable to participate in our dates because America came first, then we arrived, and he was working a different job, so he was forced to.
