The crinkle maxi dress from ASOS has become the fashion editor’s favorite outfit for warm, sunny days this summer, and this dress is no exception.
One or two pieces frequently turn out to be your wardrobe’s most sought-after item each season. The ASOS DESIGN Scoop Neck Crinkle Maxi Dress is available this summer.
The maxi dress has become a default look for fashion editors looking for an easy and effortlessly chic outfit to throw on when the temperatures soar, and as Mirror’s senior fashion writer, I couldn’t wait to join their ranks. I managed to get my hands on the chocolate brown version of the dress – no mean feat, considering the dress keeps consistently selling out – and as soon as it arrived, I knew it was about to be a staple in my wardrobe.

The initial necklace by Zara McDermott gives a sweet nod to a romance by Louis Tomlinson.
The Scoop Neck Crinkle Maxi Dress retails for about £34, and the Curve option is currently for sale, down to £22.40, with only the black colorway remaining in stock. The dress is also super flattering on all body types, lightweight, and comfortable to wear in the summer heat, and it’s also light on my bank balance.
It’s made of 100% cotton, which is the ideal fabric for wearing in higher temperatures because it’s breathable and sweat-wicking. Additionally, it provides the dress with the appropriate amount of structure and weight to keep its shape while remaining comfortable.
The dress came in my preferred size, and it fit perfectly. The cross over straps are adjustable, and the shirred bodice allows you to stretch and support your curves and busts. If you’re larger in the bust, it might be worthwhile to sizing up just to give yourself some extra room to move, because the straps are a little short.
The subtle details, however, contribute to the Scoop Neck Crinkle Maxi Dress’s outrageously flattering appeal. The shirred bodice curves over your hips and ends in a V-shape at both the back and front, creating a drop-height effect and creating an hourglass silhouette. All body types will find the scoop neck to be beautiful.
Although it’s a maxi length dress, I wasn’t too tall for me to wear it because I’m only five feet four inches tall. It was simple to wear with any pair of shoes, whether ballet flats, sandals, or heels, because it skimmed the top of my feet.
The Scoop Neck Crinkle Maxi Dress is available in five other colors, including red, green, and a brown and white gingham, despite my choice of chocolate brown. You’ll need to be quick to get it in your size because of how well-known it is because it has been consistently selling out quickly.
I also discovered some fantastic high street alternatives if you haven’t tried it or just want some other options. Hollister’s Strapless Linen-Blend Midi Dress is now available for only £28.99, down from £49.95, while New Look’s White Ditsy Print V Waist Poplin Midi Dress is currently available for sale for just £34.99.
Nobody’s Child’s Black Tiered Chloe Midi Dress is also a great option if you want a little bit more coverage than the scoop neck provides. It has a fitted bodice and a higher neckline. Perfect for the summer, it then flares out into a three-piece skirt with plenty of movement.
However, you can purchase the Scoop Neck Crinkle Maxi Dress from ASOS for £34 in sizes 6 to 14 or choose the Curve option for £22.40.
