Getty ImagesIn his first public address regarding rumors about his relationship with his parents, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has stated that he does not want to “reconcile” with his family.
In a series of posts on Instagram, the eldest child of Sir David Beckham and Lady Beckham accused his parents of “attacking” him and his wife in the press, saying they tried “endlessly to ruin” his relationship with Nicola Peltz Beckham.
After months of speculation about a feud in the high-profile family, he said he had tried to keep the situation private but was left with “no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth”.
In a series of posts to his 16 million followers, the 26-year-old wrote, “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.”
“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to write in the press, leaving me with no choice but to represent myself and expose only a small percentage of the lies that have been published.
I don’t want to have a family, I say. For the first time in my life, I’m standing up for myself instead of being controlled.
No matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one, he claimed his relationship with his wife, who is an American actress and Nelson Peltz’s daughter had been “consistently disrespected by my family.”
He claimed that his parents were trying to thwart their wedding, and that his mother, a fashion designer, had “canceled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour, forcing her to find a new dress urgently.”
Reports emerged at the time that Nicola, now 31, had refused to wear one of Lady Beckham’s designs. She later told the Times that her mother-in-law had realised her atelier could not finish it in time, denying speculation that there was a feud.
He also claimed that Lady Beckham “stole” “their first dance,” claiming that my mother was waiting for him to dance with me instead of his wife, and that she “danced inappropriately on me in front of everyone.”
He claimed that they “created new memories” that would bring us joy and happiness rather than embarrassment and fear when they renewed their vows in 2025.
Peltz Beckham also alleged that his parents had “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name” weeks before the ceremony. It is not clear to which rights he is referring.
Getty ImagesThe couple’s absence from Sir David’s 50th birthday party in May also fueled speculation about the rift, he added.
Peltz Beckham claimed he and his wife had planned to visit London for Sir David’s birthday but were “rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.”
The influencer wrote, “He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with 100 guests and cameras rolling around.”
He claimed that his family then turned down his request to meet him on a subsequent trip to Los Angeles, but that his father “finally agreed to meet him but on the condition that his wife was not present.”
A source at the time claimed that Romeo, his younger brother, and a woman he had previously been romantically linked to, had chosen to attend the party.
The family’s eldest son criticized his parents for putting “public promotion and endorsements” preceding everything else.
Brand Beckham, according to him, “comes first, and family ‘love’ is determined by how much you post on social media.”
Peltz Beckham said he had been subject to “endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders”.
He added that his younger brothers were also “sent to attack me on social media, before they finally blocked me out of nowhere this summer.”
In response to a Daily Mail report that claimed they had done so, Cruz Beckham, 20, claimed in December that their parents would “never unfollow their son.”
Not accurate, indeed. Never would my parents unfollow their son, according to my parents. Let’s get the facts right, “he wrote on Instagram.
They woke up blocked like I did.
