Most fans are not Dan Burn, but most people would be disappointed if they worked at 8am the day after their favorite team had won their first trophy in 56 years.

The 32-year-old boyhood Newcastle supporter scored the opening goal for the Magpies to defeat Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley to win the Carabao Cup two days after receiving his first England call-up.

He played a significant role in their celebrations.

Eddie Howe, the manager of the Magpies, claimed Joelinton and the other Magpies players had soaked him and that he had drunk beer in the news conference room afterward.

However, it was soon apparent that Burn, a 29-year-old local lad from Blyth, was in need of attention. For the first time in his career, he will report for England duty on Monday morning.

Fantastic was the defender’s thumping header from Kieran Trippier’s corner just before half-time to give his side the lead.

It was Newcastle’s first cup final goal since 1976. Alexander Isak would score the second goal for Liverpool in the second half, before Federico Chiesa put the visitors in a late consolation.

Howe remarked, “What a few days for Dan.” “His performance today was incredible at the back.”

For two weeks, we worked tirelessly on those corners. He delivered one long-range. Incredible header It’s so appropriate to him.

I’ve had worse weeks, Burn claimed to Sky Sports. I’m not going to sleep because I believe everything I’m saying is false.

“I saved it for a significant occasion because I don’t get many.” I’m numb right now, feeling strange and numb at the moment.

At 8 o’clock, he added, “I’ll be the first person there tomorrow at England training.”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot responded to a question about why 6′ 7in Burn was still so unfettered afterward, and his response was enlightening.

He said, “We have five players who are geographically close to our goal.” Our five strongest players will attack the ball if it comes in.

A player typically heads toward the zone. I’ve never seen a player from that far away heading a ball into the far corner, which is unusual for me, and I believe he’s an exception. There are 99 out of 100 situations where a goal is not possible.

The “cure stuff” for me never existed.

After not winning a trophy since the 1969 Inter-City Fairs Cup or a domestic one since the 1955 FA Cup, Newcastle fans felt cursed.

Since then, thirty different English league clubs have each won a significant trophy.

They lost to Manchester United in the 2023 Carabao Cup final after losing the 1998 and 1999 FA Cup finals.

Howe remarked, “The curse stuff for me never existed.”

Everyone will never forget it, says one expert who spent so much time waiting for the trophy. Today was the best day to win a trophy, which there are many ways to do it.

By far, we had been the better team in the Premier League.

He said, “The first time we got to Wembley was very emotional,” referring to what he learned from their 2-0 defeat two years ago.

“The players and the crowd reacted in a way that made sense. It didn’t, in my opinion, improve our performance.

We attempted to eliminate distractions and recreate the Premier League build-up this time.

Newcastle, who are currently sixth in the Premier League, did well, despite having a gruesome finale.

Howe remarked, “It was difficult when Liverpool scored.” I was considering extra time. It would never be 2-0 because we always make it difficult for ourselves.

He remarked about their celebrations, saying, “I encourage them not to be professionals tonight and not to worry too much about tomorrow.”

It resembles the World Cup, according to the author.

Bruno Guimaraes, the first signing of the 2019 season under Howe and the Saudi ownership, has quickly become a cult favorite among Newcastle fans since his 2022 departure from Lyon.

The Brazil midfielder’s name was chanted and sang throughout the match by the supporters.

He said, “It’s all for these fans.” They are deserving of everything. When I first arrived, I stated that I wanted to introduce my name to history.

“We are now able to say that we once more are the champions.”

I have no words, I promise. The day of my life is the best. It’s like a World Cup for them [the fans]. People no longer view us as champions because we’ve grown up.

It’s one of the best days of my first year as club captain. This is incredible.
