The 33-year-old became the first man to successfully defend the belt four times in a row, and he has proven unstoppable in the division.
Makhachev has spoken before about a move to featherweight, where Ilia Topuria is champion.
After his victory, Makhachev said, “I don’t know when it will happen, but I am not leaving this sport without a second belt.”
“Right now my goal is to be double champion. I don’t know if it’s going to be next fight or when. I am going to still fight, still win. I will defend my belt.

If he achieves that objective, Makhachev would look for success in a third weight division.
Topuria, who had lost to Makhachev, was quick to put his name in the hat in the fight that followed.
UFC president Dana White said after the fight in Inglewood, California that he considers Makhachev the UFC’s pound-for-pound best fighter, suggesting the Russian could be the best lightweight ever.
With his fourth victory over Moicano, Makhachev broke the title defense record held by Khabib Nurmagomedov, BJ Penn, and Benson Henderson.
Makhachev, who has won 15 fights in a row, confidently claimed he has what it takes to become a three-weight champion.
At UFC 312 in February, South African Dricus du Plessis fights Sean Strickland for the middleweight title, and Makhachev said he would prefer to scale up from 155 to 185 pounds.
