After leaving as manager, Wilfried Nancy first and foremost has become a “leader” at Celtic.

After replacing Brendan Rodgers, who resigned in October, the Frenchman has agreed to stay in the country until 2028. Eight games were in charge until Martin O’Neill took over.

The manager will take over for the first time on Sunday at home to Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, according to an “excited” Nancy who said “it’s been a little while.”

Nancy told Celtic TV, “The brand of Celtic really fits me.”

Nancy spent time at Montreal’s academy before becoming the head coach of the Columbus Crew. He won the MLS Cup and Leagues Cup with the Montreal team, as well as the Canadian Championship.

He claims that Kwame Ampadu, a long-term assistant, will “challenge” and “support” Celtic’s players, and that he is “wise, for me this is so important.”

And Nancy said he would prefer “nuances” over “major changes” because she is “confident” he will be able to convey his style to the current champions.

He explained that “my play is about how I live.” I enjoy being creative in my life and discovering new things. I enjoy trying new things.

Football is all about player-player relationships. We don’t play golf or tennis. Nonverbal communication is what we need, as I like to call it. We must run as a team to score goals, and we must run as a team to defend the goal.

The ball should be handled by us. I want to play football responsibly. I want to use the box to sway the opposition so they can move more quickly. We must unite and be resilient when we face challenging situations.

We are all “wishing to win.” When confronted with problems, we must prepare ourselves to find solutions.

Under O’Neill, who returned to the Celtic dugout after 20 years, Nancy cited the “joy and confidence of the players.”

“Nancy said, “I just met Martin.” Evidently, I didn’t personally know him. I had a really good discussion with him about some things and we exchanged some information because we knew him as a coach. It was simple as that.
