Scorecard
Ireland won their fourth Women’s T20 World Cup European qualifier in Rotterdam with their highest-ever T20 run total, defeating Germany once more.
As Ireland’s record-setting 223-ball target, which the Germans could not possibly surpass, was achieved by Amy Hunter, who hit 114 from 67 balls.
In a strong position for a spot at the next round-robin stage of the world qualifiers in Nepal, Lloyd Tennant’s side are now in a strong position to take one of two spots. They have already defeated Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy.
The final four T20 World Cup qualifiers in England for the coming summer will be decided at that tournament.
Before Rameesha Shahid bowled the only wicket that Germany claimed, Ireland won the toss and chose to bat first. Hunter and Christina Coulter Reilly combined for 79 runs before the latter was bowled out by the team.
As Ireland set their highest ever target, Hunter added 62 runs from 33 balls before completing her second T20 century with 61 balls with Leah Paul.
None of the German batters were able to break into double digits, making the task much harder.
Wilhelmina Hornero-Garcia took an early wicket for Jane Maguire, while Laura Delany and Asmita Kohli were dismissed by Karthika Vijayaraghavan and captain Laura Delany.
Rameesha Shahid was also defeated by Cara Murray, who gave Germany just 44 runs.
