Howe ‘Not 100 Percent’ On Newcastle Return After Pneumonia

Eddie Howe, the head of Newcastle, admitted that he is still feeling “100 percent” after a lengthy illness.

After missing his team’s Premier League games against Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa, Howe went to the hospital on April 11.

The 47-year-old is still recovering from helping Newcastle win their first major trophy in 56 years, but he was eager to return to his former team.

“I’m OK. Although I’m not entirely in my body, I’d like to believe that my mind is nearly entirely in focus, which is what matters most to me,” Howe told reporters on Friday.

Howe will return to St James’ Park for Saturday’s game against lowly Ipswich, where fifth-placed Newcastle is currently in the midst of a tense battle to earn a top five finish.
