The winter wedding of Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay was notable for both the stunning detail and the absence of Adam’s family, and it appears that the Ramsays had a significant influence on the day’s big day.
Their lavish Big Day in Bath was one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of 2025 – not least for the devastating family feud that has ruptured relations between the groom and most of his family.
Now details have emerged of the lavish winter wedding on December 27 of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and his bride Holly Ramsay – and the heavy influence of the latter’s family can be seen throughout – from influencer Holly’s stunning dress to the delicious food on offer to even where the new husband-and-wife are honeymooning.
Influencer Holly, 25, whose father is chef Gordon Ramsay, opted for a lavish wedding dress by Elie Sab, confessing that she needed something grand that would stand out amid the impressive surroundings of the 13th-century Bath Abbey. In an interview with Vogue, she revealed, “The aisle at the abbey is 65 metres. It’s so grand and so beautiful… I knew I needed something long!”

For starters, Holly was helped on her quest for the perfect dress by her mum, Tana and her youngest sibling Jesse, 2, After wedding shopping in various boutiques in London she eventually found the ‘modest, traditional’ dress of her dreams – one with a high neckline which reminded her of something worn by late screen star Grace Kelly, or Queen in waiting Kate Middleton.
The Elle Saab creation she went for, which Holly confessed made her feel “very princess-like”, was paired with a lace veil, heels by Amina Muaddi – a Christmas present from Adam – and a shell-shaped, limited-edition Chanel minaudière which she found online.
However, there were two other changes on the day: the first was a second Elie Saab song that Holly described as “short and fun” for the late-night reception and a lot of dancing at Georgian mansion Kin House.
Prior to that, however, Tana’s own wedding dress from her own 1996 nuptials to Gordon was a huge nod to Holly’s mother for her first dance.
Holly stated to Vogue just before the big day that she “always liked” the idea of wearing her mother’s dress at some point. It has a V-neckline and pearls all around, which is beautiful. It completely fit me when I put it on, and there was no need for any adjustments.
She laughed and admitted that when she showed her Peloton how it looked, her mother admitted that she was working out.
She acknowledged that her father, Gordon, was very emotional during the planning and cried “every time” she mentioned the wedding.
Holly, the youngest of the six Ramsay children, was the first to get married, and she explained that her father initially wanted to take her to church in one of his sports cars. However, they eventually consented to travel in a Rolls-Royce Phantom, which was more convenient for modifying the bride’s lengthy lace train.
In stark contrast to Adam’s side of the family – in the end only his sister, Bethany attended the wedding – Gordon’s influence was felt across the Big Day.
The chef coordinated the wedding breakfast at Kin House while also overseeing the menu at London’s Savoy Grill, which included traditional beef Wellington and wine pairings.
Holly made the decision to include the after-party snacks, but she later revealed. I’m very excited about that aspect, too, because it’s spicy vodka pasta and fries.
Former Strictly star Adam proposed to Holly in September 2024, while they were on a romantic holiday in Crete – and after two and a half years as a couple.
However, Holly and he both admitted that getting married was a conversation right away, and she wasn’t surprised when he proposed by the pool at their home. Holly responded, “It was perfect.” “Just us two”.
Holly admitted that the night before when she admitted to having the traditional affair and not staying with Adam the night before, she was most excited to see Adam for the first time while walking down the aisle with her father.
On the day, she was accompanied by her sisters Megan and Tilly, as well as her bridesmaid, Bethany, who was also wearing a bouquet of white ranunculus from London florist Rob Van Helden.
And the bridal party is being dressed by the Ramsays’ longtime family friend, designer Victoria Beckham. “They are all wearing a VB dress in red – and they all look incredible,” said Holly.
Victoria was one of the high-profile guests at Holly’s hen do at Soho House in Oxfordshire – which is when the feud with Adam’s mum is thought to have begun in earnest, as Caroline, 59, was not invited to the swanky, star-studded do.
A “hungover brunch” would be held the day after the wedding, which also saw dad-of-one Adam turn 31. It would follow a backless Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini dress, which would be followed by a private family dinner at Kin House later that day. Then, two days later, my birthday, she continued!
Even the newlyweds’ honeymoon has the Ramsay stamp all over it, as the pair headed off to Mauritius, “to just lie by the sea” – a wedding present from Holly’s parents. She added, “I had to tell Adam we weren’t basing our honeymoon around a 25-metre pool…”
Of course, everything may have been planned to perfection, but Holly and Adam couldn’t stop the family feud, which they continued to rage against as they said, “I Do.”
But the pair are putting on a united front amidst the ongoing drama – Holly now going by the name ‘Holly Ramsay Peaty’ on Instagram, after Adam did the same, becoming Adam Ramsay Peaty.
Only Adam’s sister was in attendance on their big day, after mum Caroline’s hen do snub – after which most of his relatives were reportedly uninvited to the wedding, Caroline vocal on social media about her heartache at the situation. In addition, Adam was thought to have received an unsettling text from his aunt Louise, his mother’s sister, shortly before his big moment.
She texted him, “I hope you never experience the pain your mother has been through, and she still loves you,” according to the Daily Mail. You two deserve a lot of shame. Shame . Remember that you caused your mother such pain that her soul screams on this, your happiest day, and each anniversary of your happiest day.
