She’s one of the UK’s most-loved actresses after appearing on our screens for the last 18 years and now Suranne Jones has opened up about aging and why refuses to get Botox injections.

The 47-year-old has admitted she wouldn’t be open to getting Botox, even if it was for a role but has considered other non-surgical treatments. Speaking to Andy Goldstein and Lisa Snowdon on the We’re Not Getting Any Younger podcast, she explained: “I don’t think I’ll ever do Botox because I’m too frightened. It’ll be me that it goes wrong for.

“But I would do Morpheus8,” I said. I’ve completed a resume. But that’s about all I can handle. It’s like drinking only a drink of water with Profhilo.

She continued, “I will dabble, but I’m also a little scared.” Additionally, as we age, I can get all the jobs. And I’ll just play the Nanas, which I’m content to do.

A high concentration of hyaluronic acid is used to hydrate and firm the skin while Morpheus8 is a treatment that uses microneedling and radiofrequency energy to stimulate new collagen and tighten the skin.

Her comments come as the former Coronation Street actress has starred in Netflix’s hit thriller series Hostage, which released on Netflix on August 21. She plays fictional British Prime Minister Abigail Dalton in the five-part series on the streaming platform.

The political thriller features Dalton being threatened with murder unless she steps down as president as a result of her husband’s abduction while he works abroad.

As both women prepare for difficult negotiations, adding layers of complexity and political maneuvering, French President Vivienne Toussaint’s (Julie Delpy) visit adds to the kidnapping.

The critically acclaimed actress had to consult with numerous female politicians before fully researching and writing the character.

Matt Charman, the director of Hostage, outlined some of the research that Jones and the lead actor did for the part.

He stated, “We spoke to a lot of female politicians, and what she didn’t say is what she didn’t know.”

Suranne addressed leaders and prime ministers who were “absolutely wonderful” and expressed their disapproval, saying, “It’s how knackered you are at the end of the day. How much reading must you accomplish. How difficult it is to see your friends. You must set up these appointments months in advance.

He continued, “We spoke to a few politicians with kids, and the thing they said was that their children always felt their guilt.”

Imagine being someone’s son or daughter of a cabinet member and having people post videos, scare you, or send things directly to you. It’s always around what the kids have to give up, how hard it was for the kids, and how social media has evolved into this.

Most politicians are sick of hearing that, according to them. Although I’m resilient enough to endure it, my children attend school, which is terrible for them.

The series also stars Corey Mylchreest, Ashley Thomas, and Lucian Msamati, an incredible cast.

Netflix currently has Hostage available for streaming.
