Hollyoaks star Roxanne has announced the exciting news that she has given birth to twins, sharing heart-warming snaps on social media as her former co-stars rushed to congratulate her

Former Hollyoaks favourite Roxanne McKee has revealed she’s become a mum of two after giving birth to twins. The actress, who shot to fame as Louise Summers on the Channel 4 soap, shared the joyful news with her followers on Instagram. The news comes just only three months after announcing her surprise engagement.

In sweet snaps, Roxanne could be seen cuddling her newborns while beaming at the camera. Alongside the black-and-white pictures, she wrote: “Less sleep more love.” The post was flooded with messages of love and support from her supporters. Another social media user wrote: “Congratulations darling.” A second added: “Huge congrats to you both XXXX.”

Meanwhile, fellow Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas commented: “Congratulations to you all.” And actor Mike Parr added: “So happy for you mate x.”

Roxanne first announced she was expecting during the summer, posing in a Calvin Klein underwear shoot that showed off her growing bump. She also shared romantic pictures with her mystery partner – the first time she’d ever gone public with their relationship.

The couple appears very much loved-up as they held each other’s hands. She wrote alongside the photos: “Joint project.”

It’s been a whirlwind few months for the 45-year-old, who has kept her personal life under wraps until now. Roxanne became a household name after joining Hollyoaks in 2005, playing feisty bar manager Louise Summers.

Following McKee’s decision to leave the show, she told The Digital Spy back in 2010: “I have enjoyed my time at Hollyoaks immensely and I’m going to really miss everyone at Lime Pictures.

“I have learned so much and will take away with me many happy memories — not just from everyone I have worked with but from Liverpool as a city too, which has become my second home. I know I will shed a few tears on the day I leave but I am so excited about what the future holds.”

After leaving the show, Roxanne swapped the village for Hollywood. She went on to land roles in Game of Thrones as Doreah, appeared in the BBC drama Lip Service, and starred as Lady Claire Riesen in the US sci-fi hit Dominion. Her film credits include The Legend of Hercules, Strike Back, and the horror sequel Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines.

Born in Canada and raised in England, the actress studied Social Policy and Political Studies at Royal Holloway, University of London, before finding fame. Away from acting, she’s passionate about health and fitness and has worked with Future Fit Training to promote wellbeing and confidence.
