With husband Dan Baldwin’s support, TV presenter Holly Willoughby is reportedly planning a bold comeback with the intention of reinventing herself as TV’s upcoming big solo host.

Holly Willoughby is said to be quietly preparing the next phase of her career, with husband Dan Baldwin stepping in to help steer the plans. After some time away from the spotlight, the couple are said to be putting together a strategy that could mark her biggest return yet.

According to sources, Holly’s goal is nothing less than a primetime slot and a desire to rival Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross. An insider revealed that “anyone who has written Holly off has another thing coming.”

She has never displayed more tenacity. Dan is her secret weapon, and the next step is going to be spectacular.

The former This Morning presenter, 44, who met Baldwin through work back in 2004, has faced a turbulent few years both personally and professionally. Her career slowed after she left daytime TV in 2023, while Baldwin went on to notch up a string of successes, including the reboot of Gladiators.

Although there was some unease reportedly caused by that conflict, the two are now firmly inseparable and determined to reclaim Holly as one of the biggest presenters in the country.

“She and Dan both know she has what it takes to go solo in a primetime evening slot, and they plan to make her the biggest female presenter in the UK again. Together, they are a force to be reckoned with,” the source added to The Sun.

Holly reportedly has been reaching out for advice and has reportedly been making a quiet recovery from a relationship with former Celebrity Juice co-star Fearne Cotton and close friends Emma Bunton and Christine Lampard.

Additionally, she has recently been spotted with Nicole and Natalie Appleton from Spice Girls and Christine, Myleene Klass, and other notable members of her circle of showbiz pals.

Her abrupt exit from television came after a very painful time. Later, Gavin Plumb, who had a murderous abduction plan, was sentenced to at least 16 years in prison.

Holly then withdrew from public life to focus on her family – Harry, 16, Belle, 14, and Chester, 10 – and only dipped back into screens with Netflix’s Celebrity Bear Hunt alongside Bear Grylls, which was sadly axed after one season.

She is said to be considering a return on her own terms now that her children are older and more independent.

Holly has always had ambitions that go beyond the This Morning sofa, the insider said, not new. She “sees herself as the first significant female host of a primetime chat show,” according to Jonathan Ross. She will turn 45 when she will go solo next year.

Willoughby has always been most visible as part of a presenting duo, particularly with Phillip Schofield, but her focus now is on standing alone. She wants the top guests, the best slot, and the chance to finally carve out her own space in evening television.

The Mirror has approached Holly’s representatives for comment on this story.
