In July, Tim Hollingsworth will resign as Sport England’s chief executive.

Hollingsworth has worked in this capacity since 2018, having previously held a similar position for seven years at the British Paralympics.

He said, “The last six years have been among the most fulfilling of my professional life,” and being the chief executive of Sport England has been an enormous privilege. One of the best sports jobs is it, according to the author.

The organisation’s chair, British Olympic cycling gold medallist Chris Boardman, said: “As Tim departs, I extend my deepest gratitude for his leadership. He has set up Sport England to collaborate with a wider range of partners who are all united in their commitment to a path that will lead to long-lasting change.

” We will now carry the torch forward, continuing to build on and deliver Tim’s transformative vision. “
