Holders Newcastle to host Bradford in Carabao Cup

In the third round, League One rivals Bradford will host Carabao Cup holders Newcastle, who will face them in the title defense.

After shocking Manchester United with a spectacular penalty shootout victory at Blundell Park, League Two Grimsby Town will travel to Championship Sheffield Wednesday.

Arsenal will travel to Port Vale, while Manchester City will take on League One Huddersfield Town at the Accu Stadium.

Chelsea will travel to Lincoln City, while reigning Premier League champions Liverpool, who lost in the final of last year, will host Championship Southampton.

In the two all-Premier League games, Brentford will host Aston Villa, while Wolves will welcome Everton.

To prevent scheduling conflicts, the eight Champions League and Europa League teams, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa, were seeded.

Because the Conference League league season won’t begin until October, Crystal Palace were not included in the seeding.
