According to their sporting director Giovanni Manna, Rasmus Hojlund’s permanent move from Manchester United to Napoli constitutes a “formality.”

The 22-year-old joined Manchester on a £72 million loan from Atalanta in 2023, where he has now scored nine goals for the Serie A champions.

What a great decision looks like in Hojlund’s photo after winning the Italian Super Cup earlier this month.

When Manna questioned whether Hojlund’s permanent transfer to Napoli was merely a “formality,” she responded, “As of right now, I think so.”

He stated in an interview with the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport that “we did everything we could to sign him.”

Hojlund’s deal included a “obligation to buy” clause, but the agreed £38m transfer fee includes a requirement that requires the Italian giants to reach the Champions League.

The third-place team in Serie A would currently qualify if Antonio Conte’s side were to qualify.

Hojlund led United to a four-goal season in the league, but despite his strong desire to stay, he was pushed down the pecking order by summer signings Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko.

If we are selected to play in the Champions League, “There is an option to buy,” Maria continued.
