As tensions erupted during the testy weigh-in for Saturday’s British heavyweight title fight in Derby, a furious Frazer Clarke yelled at TKV Tshikeva’s team.

A fiery standoff broke out after both men hit the scales, with Clarke weighing 194 pounds (123 kg) and TKV weighing 18 12 pounds (120 kg) respectively.

As tensions threatened to erupt, words were exchanged, voices began to ebb, and security intervened.

The verbal sparring was then reignited by Clarke by sticking both of his middle fingers up at TKV’s small entourage.

Clarke, 34, warned, “I’ll take this boy to school and beat him up.” The fight will be broadcast live on BBC Two at the Vaillant Arena the following year.

Since their initial October 25 fight was postponed due to TKV’s injury, Clarke has publicly questioned how heated the two Britons have become.

He’s a funny person, I think. When security is present, he wants to talk funny, according to 32-year-old TKV, who I passed by in the corridor without doing anything. That clearly demonstrates his character.

A few hundred fans crowded into a hotel function room close to East Midlands Airport for the weigh-in, which was open to the public.

Clarke, a resident of Burton-upon-Trent, appeared confident as he talked to his family and picked up his young son, who was sporting a tracksuit with the word “Big Fraze” emblazoned on it.

However, when the two men faced off with more than 500 pounds of heavyweights on stage, the atmosphere became tense.

Both men then addressed BBC Sport, with a focus on the psychological conflict that had arisen.

He thinks my talk is being monopolized. He was upset by yesterday. He is trembling. In that regard, Londoner TKV declared, “I’ve won.”

The game is that. Frazer’s entire goal is to rattle him, he continued, “mission accomplished”.

He will engage in emotional combat. He won’t stick to the game plan once he becomes rattled, and he won’t fight the same in the ring again.

After drawing with him in March 2024 before being thrown out seven months later, Clarke made plans to become a world champion and possibly face WBO champion Fabio Wardley once more at Thursday’s press conference.
