Helen Flanagan, the former Coronation Street actress, revealed how difficult motherhood is for her and that her three children have different personalities.
Helen Flanagan has candidly reflected on the different bonds with her three children as she confesses to finding motherhood hard. The former Coronation Street actress, 34, shares her three children Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, four, with her ex Scott Sinclair.
She has been open on how she is navigating being a single mum and the challenges that come with raising children solo. Helen decided to look back on the year so far as she shared her favourite memories with her children.
Helen wrote in a candid update that she had a “look back” at some of her favorite moments with the kids this year. “I’ve found motherhood difficult lately, and I’ve felt overwhelmed and stressed the majority of the time. I want to go back to when I’m present and I’m really enjoying it x I always wanted to be a mother x.”
She then explained how she raised each of her children, explaining that she feels “mum guilt” about raising Matilda because she always seems preoccupied with her brother, feels guilty about giving her the energy she needs, and feels bad that she never sees me at my worst.
She needs calm, which I can never be, too. I feel like we’re working things out and that’s something I shouldn’t be beating myself up about.
“Charlie, I feel like I have the male version of me,” I said. Then Heather revealed her tense relationship with Scott.
She continued, “Coparenting is challenging, and it’s difficult to talk about your worries and anxieties for the kids when you’re not a team.” I wanted these on my grid because they bring me joy, so I guess you can only do your best and be kind to yourself.
As one commentator said, “You’re human, doing your best, and you’re an amazing mama! “, Helen was flooded with support from her followers. Give yourself grace because this is your first time living. Another person commented, “You’re doing an amazing job,” and another added, “You’re a great mummy.”
Following her split from Scott after 13 years together, Helen spiraled into a “very scary” psychotic episode while on her dream New Year’s break in Bali with their children.
Reflecting on that time in her life earlier this year, Helen devastatingly shared how she thought her kids would have been better off without her. She bravely posted: “My love life was a s**t show that year…. I didn’t look after my my mental health or think.
I was so upset and depressed. I now felt like my entire life was screwed up, and I’m blessed with the ideal family. Someone needs to spend 13 years with them. My whole 20s. I also experienced a lot of family feuds, and I also lost essentially all of my money. We were engaged, not married, to Scott.
“My mental health was so poor that I thought my children would benefit from having their dad because he has better judgment than I do. Although words can’t express how much I love my kids, you can’t say that.
