Hearts vs. Celtic in the Scottish Premiership
Location: Tynecastle Park, Edinburgh, on Sunday, October 26; 12:00 GMT
According to Derek McInnes, Hearts and Celtic will face “the toughest challenge” on Sunday when they square off against defending champions.
Regardless of the outcome in Edinburgh, McInnes’ team will remain top despite the fact that the teams are tied by five points.
Hearts are only down two points in the league this season, while Celtic lost their first Premiership game since May at Dundee on Sunday.
The toughest challenge lies ahead for us, according to McInnes.
“Celtic always present the toughest challenge,” says one reader. We are anticipating taking the test. We think we’re going to do it well.

In addition to winning the Scottish Cup and League Cup finals four times, McInnes’ Aberdeen side also placed second behind Celtic in the Premiership. In the Premier Sports Cup and the 2023-2024 season, he won against Brendan Rodgers’ side at Kilmarnock.
When playing Celtic, you must be on point and must play really well, McInnes said.
“I’ve played against Brendan’s teams frequently,” he said. Top players are everywhere in Celtic. Because of the demand, they invest the money in the squad they have, and they have a very good, top-level player.
“So we’ve got to work hard on Sunday to get a result. We’re just trying to be their toughest adversary, and I’m concentrating on making sure our performance gives us a chance. Whether my opponent is strong or weak, I can’t rely on them.
We think our performance is what will determine the outcome.
McInnes claimed that a victory in the top spot and an eight-point lead would be good shooting from us.
He continued, “We could only be two points clear.” We are aware that Sunday will be our final eight or nine games. I believe winning will give us great confidence and belief. We’ll just keep trying to believe and be confident in our work going forward if we don’t win. That won’t stop us.
