George Clooney, a famous actor, is grieving the passing of his 65-year-old older sister Adelia “Ada” Zeidler, who passed away on Friday after battling cancer.

Praising his sister for “facing cancer with courage and humour”, George told People magazine: “My sister, Ada, was my hero. She faced down cancer with courage and humour. I’ve never met anyone so brave. Amal and I will miss her terribly.” Ada’s official biography says she died “peacefully” on Friday while “surrounded by the people she loved” at St Elizabeth healthcare in Kentucky, US.

Her obituary reads, “[Ada] leaves behind her beloved children, Nick Zeidler and Allison Zeidler Herolaga and her husband, Kenny, her brother, George Clooney and his wife Amal, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
The mother-of-two, who was given the name “talented artist,” used her talents as an art teacher at Augusta Independent School in her hometown of August, Kentucky, according to her obituary.
Her online memorial reads, “Her academic achievements made her a National Merit Scholar.” In a neighborhood book club, her passion for reading sparked her conversation with other readers.
She was also a member of the Augusta Art Guild and was a past grand marshal of Augusta’s Annual White Christmas Parade.”
Ada lived her life in isolation from her younger brother, which she did not. She supported George over the years, including attending his lavish wedding to wife Amal in Venice in 2014, despite leading a very private life.
As they traveled along a canal in the Italian city, surrounded by famous faces who had been invited to the nuptials, Ada was papped while she was standing next to the ER star on a boat.

The two-time Academy Award winner, who delivered a speech for the Workhuman convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort &, Convention Center in Nashville in March 2019, reportedly looked back on touching memories with Ada from their early lives.
The actor recalled that on Christmas morning, when we awoke, we would drive an hour and a half to some people’s homes and spend the morning with them, bringing presents.
