13 years after quitting the sport, former multiple world champion Ricky Hatton has announced his return to boxing.

On December 2nd, Hatton, who turns 47 in Manchester, will take on Eisa Al Dah from the UAE in a middleweight fight in Dubai.

Hatton confirmed his return via live-streaming at a show hosted by Al Dah in Dubai on Sunday.

Hatton, who won world titles at welterweight and light-welterweight, claimed he missed out on going to Dubai because he accidentally slipped his eye while wearing sunglasses.

“I would like to go there, but my eye suffered a minor injury.” I’m really looking forward to the fight, Hatton said, and the main thing is that it will take place.

Hatton, who defeated Ukrainian Vyacheslav Senchenko in his final professional fight in 2012, won 45 of his 48 of his 48 professional fights over a distinguished 15-year career.

Before being defeated by Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio, he also won notable world titles against Kostya Tszyu and Jose Luis Castillo, among others.

Hatton made the announcement after Pacquiao, 46, confirmed his return to May, where he will face WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios on July 19.
