Harrington wins Senior Open to join exclusive club

After winning by three strokes at Sunningdale, Ireland’s Padraig Harrington has only won the Open and Senior Open.

The 53-year-old finished the tournament at 16 under with a final round score of 67 over Justin Leonard and Thomas Bjorn.

Only two men have won the Open, joining Darren Clarke, Tom Watson, Gary Player, and Bob Charles.

In 2007 and 2008, he won the Open in back-to-back years.

Harrington, who won the US Open in 2022 and the US Open in June this year, has won a third Senior Major.

After one stroke, he lost to Angel Cabrera to finish tied for second at the Senior PGA Championship.
