Kheira Hamraoui, a former Paris St.Germain midfielder, alleges she was forced to leave after being attacked with an iron bar, and has filed a 3.5% (£3.08m) lawsuit against the French club.
As she returned home from a team meal in November 2021, two masked men dragged Hamraoui from a car and slammed her legs with an iron bar. The driver was then team-mate Aminata Diallo.
Diallo and Hamraoui were vying for the same position on the PSG team when they were detained and accused of starting the attack on their team-mate.
After the incident, Hamraoui has now claimed that some PSG players had “moral harassment” committed against her.
At a Paris employment tribunal, her attorney Pascal-Pierre Garbarini claimed that Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou Diani, the team’s forwards, refused to pass the ball to Hamraoui during games.
Garbarini claimed that Hamraoui was “ostracized” on the pitch, in the changing area, in the stands, and on social media platforms.
What was PSG’s purpose? Nothing”! he stated.
Hamraoui seeks damages for moral retaliation for violating club policies, moral obligations, moral predisposition, moral prejudice, and opportunity loss.
However, PSG’s attorney, Benjamin Louzier, claimed Hamraoui had not contacted PSG or the club’s employee council about it and that he had not received a medical certificate attesting his harassment.
Midway through December, the tribunal is scheduled to render its decision on the case.
Diallo and six others were also detained in connection with the Hamraoui attack.
Prosecutors wrapped up their investigation in February 2025, but a legal case is still pending.
The 35-year-old Hamraoui, a native of France, has previously represented Barcelona, Lyon, and Saint-Etienne among other clubs. He currently plays for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
