Another game, another where Erling Haaland’s goal-scoring record is wiped out.

Manchester City’s frustration was caused by Napoli’s 10 men in the Champions League on Thursday night, but they overcame their unstoppable talisman to win another game.

The Norwegian striker, who is the quickest player ever to reach that milestone, nodded in from Phil Foden’s endearing pass to net his 50th goal in just 49 games.

He appears to have “broken every record going.” His actions are unheard of. What an unbelievable player, Foden remarked.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, a former Manchester United striker, previously held the record for 62 games, which highlights the rapid pace with which the 25-year-old completed his half-century.

Haaland was aware of what he had accomplished, holding up five fingers in one hand and a zero in the other toward the cameras while grinning in his honor.

What can I say, exactly? The statistics are conclusive, according to City manager Pep Guardiola. We are fortunate to have him, he said.

Can Haaland surpass Ronaldo’s record?

Haaland is putting any kind of competition behind him.

Four days after scoring an astonishing five goals in Norway’s 11-1 defeat of Moldova, he increased his scoring total to 90 goals in 101 Premier League games with Sunday’s win over Manchester United.

Haaland scored 27 goals for City, 15 for Borussia Dortmund, and 8 for RB Salzburg on Thursday night in the elite club competition in Europe.

The majority of those (34%) were made with his trusted left foot, with 11 coming from his right, and 5 with his head, including the attempt against Napoli.

Joe Hart, a former City goalkeeper, commented on TNT on how “he looked dangerous because it was such a clever ball, not to break stride,” blaming it on a pure goalscorer.

He appears healthy, strong, and hungry, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish this season. As a defender, you can play a nearly perfect game before [he scores]”.

Lionel Messi needed 66 matches to score 50 goals in the competition, while Cristiano Ronaldo lacked the necessary 91 to do so to demonstrate how quickly he has done so.

The Portuguese forward, however, has the most Champions League goals with 141.

Guardiola responded, “In that rhythm, yeah,” when asked if Haaand could one day surpass Ronaldo’s mark. He doesn’t have any injuries, could play for 10 or 12 more years, and still maintains this trajectory.
