Jamie Borthwick, who was sacked from the BBC One soap, has been seen for the first time since because his car collided with Georgina Shave’s girlfriend in London on a night out.
Former EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick has been spotted for the first time since his departure from the BBC soap but his night out took a turn for the worse when his Mercedes broke down.
Before his car broke down and had to be towed away, the 31-year-old, who played Jay Brown for nearly 20 years, was seen dining with Georgina Shave’s girlfriend in Mayfair, London.
Despite the mishap, Georgina, who has stood by him through recent controversies, lifted his spirits with a kiss on the street. A witness told The Sun: “Jamie was gutted. Georgina cheered him up with a smooch.”
The actor appeared to catch a ride home in the tow truck while Georgina was left to take the bus after leaving a handwritten note apologizing to parking wardens on his windscreen.

It marks Borthwick’s first public appearance since being dropped from EastEnders, ending his 19-year run as Jay Brown – a household character who was first introduced as a troubled teen.
Jay’s involvement in some of the show’s most heartfelt plotlines, including Lola Pearce’s passing, was at the center of some of the show’s most moving moments.
His exit from the series was quietly confirmed last month. The Mirror revealed that Borthwick had been axed from the soap after being suspended in June for using an offensive term to describe Blackpool residents while filming Strictly Come Dancing in the seaside town.
The actor’s language was “entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect,” according to the BBC at the time.
Borthwick later apologized informally for any offence or upset caused by his actions. There is no justification for my ignorance of the offensive term I used and its definition.
That completely irritates me. I am now aware that I directed the phrase in the manner that I did, and that I am deeply embarrassed to have used it. It was incorrect.
After the suspension, he was reportedly scheduled to return to film, but producers ultimately decided to cut the beloved character from the BBC One soap after almost twenty years.
A BBC Studios spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Jamie Borthwick will not be returning to EastEnders. We do not comment on individual matters.”
Fans only learned of his departure in an ironic incident in a September episode, when Lauren Branning told Peter Beale, “Hi Jay, his grandad’s got sick, so he’s had to go see him.”
Jamie’s representatives have been contacted for comment by The Mirror.
