Julia Donaldson, the husband of Doctor Malcolm Donaldson, left a staggering sum in his will.

After passing away at the age of 75, Doctor Malcolm Donaldson, the husband of Julia Donaldson from The Gruffalo, left a staggering sum in his will. Up until his retirement in 2012, Dr. Donaldson served as a senior lecturer in child health and a paediatric consultant at the University of Glasgow.

He was appointed honorary senior research fellow at the School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing after he retired. Those who treated him at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow nicknamed him “Dr. Gruffalo.”

Julia Donaldson, the author of The Gruffalo, is Dr. Donaldson’s wife. Since 1999, she has sold a staggering 13.5 million copies of the book. After his death, it has been revealed that he left a sizable sum to Julia and their family in his will.

Probate documents have revealed that Dr Donaldson left an estate, which was valued at a huge £1,322,528. His will, written in 2020, said that he wanted his estate to go to his family.

Tributes poured in for Dr. Donaldson at the time of his death. His contributions will continue to be felt in the field of pediatric endocrinology and child health in the UK, Europe, and beyond, according to the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED). You will miss him dearly, but he will be forever remembered by all of you who knew him. “

At the time of Malcolm’s passing, Axel Scheffler, the illustrator of the Gruffalo books, wrote in a tribute to him: “I have known him for 30 years and have always admired his enthusiasm for our books, Julia’s work, and children’s books in general.

“All this beside being a paediatric consultant and giving lectures all over the world. His true passion was performing with Julia on stage, playing the guitar and acting – especially his legendary suave role of the Fox in The Gruffalo. He will be deeply missed.”

Julia claimed in an interview last year that Julia’s most well-known character, the Gruffalo, “gave the attention.” She added, “I believe everyone has heard of The Gruffalo, even those who haven’t read the book.”

I’ll admit that I enjoy it when people mention one of my other books because they think The Gruffalo is a little spoilt. Really, he hogs too much attention.

She acknowledged that she didn’t believe the book would even be published, adding, “I didn’t really believe it was going to be published.” I was unsure. I had received a number of rejections from other stories I’d written.

Before his depressing passing in September of last year, Dr. Donaldson was married to Julia for more than five decades.
