Gregg Wallace, the former MasterChef star, has addressed Sir Rod Stewart’s criticisms and revealed his true opinion of the legendary rocker. Following Wallace leaving the BBC program while the show’s production company Banijay UK investigates allegations of misconduct, Sir Rod claimed that the presenter “humiliated” his wife Penny Lancaster on Celebrity MasterChef in 2021.

Loose Women star Penny claimed the following month that she had not heard from her husband before seeing a post on Instagram about Wallace’s behavior.
Wallace, who was formally fired from the BBC earlier this month as a result of an investigation into his alleged misconduct, has now spoken about Sir Rod and Penny’s remarks.
Wallace said: “I’m actually a Rod Stewart fan. I’m actually a fan.” In an interview with The Sun, Wallace also reveals how he feels about his former co-host John Torode’s exit from MasterChef. He and I have seen each other twice. That made me hurt. That person carries a lot of weight. However, there was no harassment or bullying.
Penny acknowledged when he mentioned Sir Rod’s Instagram post on Loose Women in December and that she hadn’t realized it had been shared. You can imagine the volume of inquiries there, of course.
“I most definitely witnessed and suffered some of Gregg Wallace’s bullying and harassment,” said the producer, and regrettably many members of the production team also experienced it. I think he used his position of power to, in my opinion, intimidate and distress a lot of people on set.
“And it’s really unfortunate that someone like him can get away with that, while others kind of stand by and let it happen at the same time.”
She continued, “I felt a little vindicated that something was put out there, going back to sort of that whole Me Too (movement),” noting that she was “in shock” by Sir Rod’s message.
They don’t anticipate being supported or heard at the time. So it might take someone a few years before someone mentions something. It gives those who have suffered as well as the other victims the confidence to come forward.
After the BBC confirmed his exit from MasterChef earlier this month, Wallace said: “My family and I have lived under a cloud for eight months. media trial, fueled by clickbait and rumors.

The report also uncovered that “many of the substantiated allegations against Mr. Wallace were related to inappropriate sexual language and humour,” adding that “a smaller number of allegations about being in a state of undress and being in a state of undress were also supported,” as well as “one incident of unwelcome physical contact” that was also supported.
Wallace was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder during the course of the investigation, which spanned more than a seven-month period, according to the report, who also argued that Wallace’s findings should be viewed in light of his neurodiversity.
Wallace continued in his statement, “I’m relieved that the Banijay report fully acknowledges how much my behavior changed in 2018.” Some of my language and humor were off the mark. After nearly 20 years on the show, I now realize that some patterns may have been misinterpreted due to characteristics I’ve only recently come to understand. I also acknowledge that more could have been done, both from my side, to address earlier concerns. I’ve learned a lot about how I communicate and how I’m perceived thanks to my late diagnosis. I’m still learning.
