Since Thursday, the governor has expressed his gratitude to the locals and supporters.
What I saw at the airport really humbles me.
I was truly humbled by that reception. The governor remarked, “It showed love and solidarity.”
He claimed that the people’s support was a reflection of the state’s support.
The governor was accompanied by his wife, key players, and security officials to the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Edison Ehie, his chief of staff, was one of the attendees.
The governor first inspected his official residence before moving to his office at the Government House.
Emergency Regulation
On Friday, more than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu ended the state’s six-month emergency rule, the governor arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport at about 12:19 p.m.
A crowd of supporters gathered at the Port Harcourt International Airport’s VIP wing to welcome him and await his arrival.

Despite the hundreds of supporters who had gathered to welcome him, Fubara did not appear at the Government House while the House of Assembly was resuming its session on Thursday.
However, Nyesom Wike, his predecessor and current minister of the Federal Capital Territory, claimed in an exclusive interview with Channels Television that Fubara was not required to resume on Thursday.
After President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers on March 18 citing a political crisis, Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, had been stepping down from the state’s governance for six months.
Tinubu also wore the role of administrator over Ibok-Ete Ibas, a former admiral.
At the conclusion of the emergency rule on Wednesday night, Ibas took over control of the government.
Wike-Fubara Rift
In a common occurrence between incumbent governors and former governors in Nigeria, Fubara and his predecessor, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, broke out in May of the same year.
The lawmakers were divided when the political conflict also divided the House of Assembly.
