In a bitter family feud between the Olympic swimmer and his parents, Gordon Ramsay has publicly expressed his support for the newlywed son-in-law Adam Peaty by referring to himself as “Dad.”

After a week of silence, Gordon Ramsay has made a public display of support for his new son-in-law amid a family feud between Adam Peaty and his parents.

On 27 December, Adam married Gordon’s daughter Holly, in a ceremony that all bar one of his family members did not attend. This came after Adam’s mother Caroline was uninvited from the wedding.

None of the Ramsays have publicly discussed the situation despite Caroline and her family members posting social media about the “pain” caused by the conflict with Adam and speaking to the press, including her sister Louise.

However, Gordon has shown his love for the most recent addition to his family after Adam shared a portion of his wedding speech on Instagram. He wrote, “Beautiful words @adamramsaypeaty @hollyramsaypeaty True Love” in the comments section. Dad, congratulations on your two hearts.

Although Gordon and his wife Tana are not actually Adam’s parents, it is believed that Gordon once made such a disparaging reference to the new family member. According to reports, he claimed to have told the couple that Tana would be an “amazing mother to you both” during his wedding speech.

Caroline, Adam’s mother, and Mark, Adam’s father, were both absent from the wedding. Other than the groom, his sister Bethany, who was a bridesmaid, was the only Peaty present.

Speaking to MailOnline ahead of the wedding, Caroline said: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.”

She continued, “My family is broken, and this is my first Christmas without my family.” Yes, I do have a third grandchild. Yes, I have my other children, but my family has been divided due to the events surrounding the wedding.

Gordon’s most recent words came after Adam released a portion of his wedding speech, in which he said he would choose Holly Ramsay. His emotional message to his bride is strikingly similar to words used by Brooklyn Beckham during his feud with parents Victoria and David, both of whom were at the Ramsay-Peaty wedding.

Brooklyn did not attend, just as he has not appeared at any function involving his parents recently. The 26-year-old is thought to be feuding with his parents after snubbing several events, such as his father’s knighthood, and, most recently, blocking his entire family on Instagram. Months after speculation began, he broke his silence and said he would “always choose” his wife Nicola Peltz.

Back in May, Brooklyn posted a video of himself riding a red motorcycle through Los Angeles with wife Nicola sat behind with her arms draped around his neck as they travelled along the palm-tree lined road.

Brooklyn’s caption reads, “My entire world will love you forever, I always choose you baby,” and she goes on to say, “X I will love you forever.”
