Holly Ramsay married Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty this morning, and the celebrity chef was caught looking overjoyed as he entered her home.
Gordon Ramsay appeared every inch the proud father as he walked his daughter Holly into Bath Abbey on Saturday (December 27), despite the shadow of a public family feud hanging over her groom, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.
The 58-year-old celebrity chef, who was spotted arriving at the historic abbey ahead of the midday ceremony, holding Holly’s hand as the pair walked through the elaborate wooden doors.
As his daughter walked inside, Gordon carefully assisted in lifting her elaborate wedding dress. The lavish ceremony took place at Bath Abbey, which was decorated with hundreds of white roses to mark the entrance.
Security and media barriers were set up for the A-list attendees as guests began arriving at 11am. Later this afternoon, the couple will attend a lavish reception at Wiltshire’s Kin House country estate.
While reports of a rift in the Peaty family dominate the lead-up to their wedding, despite Adam and Holly’s apparent desire to celebrate their union today. After a bitter disagreement with their son over a number of issues, Adam’s parents, Caroline and Mark Peaty, are alleged to have been unable to attend the wedding.
After Adam’s mother was dissapointed for her hen party, tensions are thought to have gotten worse. Additionally, Caroline reportedly argued with Adam about her wedding outfit choices, which Adam is said to have refrained from wearing because Holly’s bridal white dress and Caroline’s were too similar.
Louise, Adam’s aunt, ranting on social media about Caroline’s treatment, saying, “@hollyramsayy, I’m so glad you had a great hen do. You deserve that as a bride.
However, you made a woman I have loved and still love dearly hurt and have feelings for her. A woman who has opened her heart and home to you.
You made the decision to not invite her and your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night, but Adam also invited your father-in-law and your father to his stag night. You invited my niece, my sister, your future mother-in-law, your sisters, your friends, but not your mother, which is quite right.
Adam responded to this by acknowledging the situation and asking followers to respect his privacy, stating that “every story has two sides.”
Gordon Ramsay has publicly backed his new son-in-law and paid Holly and Adam a heartfelt tribute ahead of their wedding this morning despite Adam’s difficult family situation.
He continued, “I’m truly blessed to be able to walk this stunning bride down the aisle and to have gained an incredible son in law @adam_peaty!” I’m so proud of you, Holly Ramsayy, and I can’t be prouder of my father.
Gordon has previously complimented Adam, as he noted in a statement on the High Performance podcast earlier this year, “Honestly, I could not ask for a more down-to-earth, respectable future son-in-law.” He has accomplished something incredible, but he hasn’t yet completed it. Looking forward to soon catching up.”
