Inothewayurthinkin, a winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, will not participate in the Grand National in the following month because of a trainer’s decision to rest him for the Aintree showpiece.

Galopin Des Champs, who is a favorite, was denied by Mark Walsh’s historic hat-trick at the Prestbury Park course last Friday when the seven-year-old rode him to victory by six lengths.

The JP McManus-owned horse Inothewayurthinkin was the 5-2 favorite for the Grand National on April 5, but it was dropped from the list of horses for the famous Liverpool steeplechase on Tuesday.

We’re only seven years old, and this season’s jumping work has us worried that running him at Aintree might be a backward step.

It might be a little too much of him to try to win a Grand National at the age of seven, but we’re absolutely thrilled to win a Gold Cup.

The Punchestown Gold Cup, which took place at the end of April, was an “option,” according to Cromwell.

Before making a decision on that, he continued, “We’ll see how he is over the next few weeks.”
