A Gogglebox star has been flooded with support after sharing an emotional video in which they reflected on finding love again
A beloved Gogglebox star has opened up about finding love again at 60 after thinking their “love story was over”.
Andrew joined the long-running Channel 4 show last year alongside husband Alfie. The married couple, from the Cotswolds, were one of several new families that showed up on screens for its 26th series.
Despite only joining this year, Andrew and Alfie have become a hit with fans, thanks to their witty remarks and playful jibes at one another.
The TV stars, who share a 30-year age difference, got married in May 2024. Their wedding was a picturesque affair in Italy, attended by close friends and family.
Away from the show, the pair are no strangers to keeping their Instagram followers updated on their day-to-day lives. And on Tuesday (January 6) Andrew took to his Instagram and shared an emotional video, where he reflected on finding love again, while paying tribute to husband Alfie.
He said: “I genuinely thought that my love story was over at 60. I’d been through some loss and I was tired in a way that sleep doesn’t help it. I wasn’t looking for anything big, just maybe peace and a quieter life.
“And then somebody walked into my life that made me laugh, made me laugh properly like I’d never laughed before. That’s when I realised that love doesn’t disappear it just waits until you’re ready again. 60 it turns out wasn’t the end. It was just the beginning.”
Andrew’s followers were moved by his emotional video and flooded the comments section with support. One person said: “So happy for both of you, love seeing you on Gogglebox!”
Another added: “I am beyond happy that love did find you again, such a dream seeing you both SO happy!” A third chimed in: “Such lovely heartfelt words. You guys clearly have a wonderful bond and sense of humour!”
On Gogglebox, the pair often give viewers an insight into their relationship dynamics as they settle down to watch television. Alfie recently quipped: “We do love a good drama don’t we darling?” To which Andrew responded: “We love a good drama – less drama in our house, more drama on tele.”
Fans of Andrew and Alfie will also know that the couple are doting parents to their beloved dog, Perkins. The pooch has made several appearances on the Channel 4 show.
