Gogglebox fans have rushed to support a beloved star after they shared a hospital snap
A Gogglebox favourite had fans rallying round after they shared a snap from hospital ahead of a painful operation.
Beloved star Simon Minty first joined the long-running Channel 4 show back in 2021 with sister Jane – and it didn’t take them long to become firm favourites with fans.
Over the years, Simon and Jane – who live in Surrey – have had fans in stitches thanks to their hilarious one-liners and comical takes on the telly highlights.
Away from the Gogglebox sofa, Jane works as a chef in a kitchen while Simon, who was born with restricted growth, is a dedicated disability rights advocate.
He founded Sminty Ltd consultancy, a firm that assists other companies in enhancing their services for disabled individuals. His client list boasts big names such as the BBC, HSBC, and The Football Association.
The brother-and-sister duo are also no strangers to keeping their 54k Instagram followers updated on their day-to-day life. Recently, Simon took to his social media and shared a slew of snaps from 2016.
Included were photos of him in America and also a photo of him in hospital ahead of having a hip operation. In the snap, he could be showing an arrow that was drawn on his upper leg.
Explaining the photo, Simon wrote in the caption: “Looks like a tattoo but it’s actually the marker for my hip replacement operation. They replaced the correct one.”
His fans quickly reacted to the post with one person writing in the comments section: “Great pics! Happy they did the correct hip. Please feel free to snap more pics like that!” Another added: “Still got that cheeky grin in 2026.”

Much to the delight of fans, Simon and Minty returned for the latest Gogglebox series last year. However, it was looking a little different as it was announced in July last year that beloved stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle would not be returning.
In light of Roisin and Joe’s departure, Gogglebox has welcomed new faces to its cast.
These include Jake and Calum from Glasgow, the Gordon family from Surrey and married couple Andrew and Alfie from the Cotswolds. Also, mother-and-daughter-in-law team Sara and Lara from Yorkshire made their debut too.
