Ali Stroker, who was a contestant on The Glee Project and later appeared in the hit musical Glee, has openly shared her destruction following a miscarriage in January.
Ali Stroker, a star of Glee, has openly admitted to having a miscarriage at the start of the year. In the Ryan Murphy-created musical teen drama, the 37-year-old American played a character named Betty Pillsbury.
Ali landed the part after being a runner up in season two of the reality competition The Glee Project – which served as an audition ground for members of the public to land parts in the hugely successful Fox TV show. After breaking into the TV world, she went on to appear in other shows including Charmed, And Just Like That… and Only Murders in the Building.
Ali and David Perlow, both of whom are actors and theater directors, have a son named Jesse, who they welcomed in November 2022. Ali has now revealed that she has been hoping to raise a family, but David and Ali left devastated when their plans for the family changed.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the singer and actress shared a selfie while opening up about her heartbreaking experience. She wrote: “It’s been a tough season. I honestly have wanted to hide and not share anything about my life. But these are the moments that I need to practice what I preach and have the courage to be vulnerable.”
Without going into more detail, Ali continued, “I had a miscarriage this past January that surprised me and knocked me off my feet.” Then, a month later, I lost a job that was so important to me. I had sat through the confusion and grief that the future would bring me to tears in 30 days.

Ali continued to say that as she goes through her difficulties, she intends to immerse herself in a positive experience. She stated, “I’m dedicating the next 30 days to a self-care project, project, or experiment!”
What will happen and where will I be in the upcoming season are things I’m curious about. I’m making the decision to put myself out there in a frightening situation right now because I absolutely don’t want to. I want to say HERE I AM, but I’m not sure what comes next.
It’s so easy to love him for who he is and the circumstances he’s in, she said, concluding by saying she would listen to a song that her young son is in love with. For myself, I want to do the same. So there we have it!
Ali’s followers and friends extended messages of support, including Aylin Bayramoglu, who finished second overall in their season of The Glee Project. Thank you for letting us know about your vulnerability, Aylin wrote. I will always and forever be in your life. I’m always in your favor.
Jenna Ushkowitz, who played Tina Cohen-Chang, who also played her, provided her with support. You are truly inspirational.
Michelle Monaghan, the star of The White Lotus, wrote, “I love you, darling one.” I’m currently so happy and comforting for you.
In November of this year, Ali and David gave birth to their son. When Alie shared the happy news on social media, she wrote, “World meet Jesse Kenneth Perlow!
Born 11 / 8 healthy and enthralled to be here! There will never be a similar life. You are our boy, and we are so lucky.”
