The 2025 Glastonbury festival, which is currently three weeks away, may be held by Kiwi chart-topping star Lorde.
If Lorde can wang her way onto the stage at the 2025 Glastonbury festival, she might be doing so. The 28-year-old New Zealand singer is once more in the spotlight as her highly anticipated new album, Virgin, is out.
The Royals singer hopes to make it to Worthy Farm this month and secure herself a performance slot, which will undoubtedly raise her profile while her new album drops. From Wednesday, June 15 to Sunday, June 19, Glasgownbury 2025 is scheduled to take place.
A number of well-known celebrities have already taken the headlines, including Olivia Rodrigo, Neil Young, and Sir Rod Stewart, who will perform the legends slot on the Pyramid Stage. Charli XCX, Doechii, and even The Prodigy are other well-known performers who perform on the same level.
Lorde has made it clear that she will give up everything to attend the 2025 festival, despite not being associated with it. The star may yet make her way into the lineup because some performers are yet to be announced despite only a few weeks until the festival.
Lorde told Jo Whiley’s BBC Radio 2 show: “You know, I’m pretty keen, honestly. I feel like, because the album’s going to be coming out, I am quite tempted by what’s going on, because I’ve got lots of friends playing as well. We’ll see if I can pull some strings and get there.”
The singer has previously performed on the Pyramid Stage and Other Stage at Glastonbury in 2017. When asked what it’s like to perform in front of an audience at Glastonbury, she responded, “Absolutely unbelievable, enormous.”
“I was shooketh at the scale. So many cameras … oh goodness. So beautiful, so amazing. In 2017 we played the Other Stage, which was so amazing, that was kind of sunset and very moody and just the best. It’s the best festival in the world.”
On June 27th, Lorde’s new album will be released. The actress revealed earlier this week that she finds it difficult to listen to a track from the new album on the Therapuss podcast.
She explained, “There’s a song that I love so much called Clearblue that is about unprotected sex. And just the experience of taking a pregnancy test, and like, this flood of emotions that goes through your body.”
She continued, “That song just destroys me.” “I can’t even really hear it,” I said.
She continued, “I’m kind of trying to take me to my teen self, but the album is quite sexual, so it wasn’t sexual purity. “
She also stated to her fans that her new voice will be heard once her most recent album, 2021’s Solar Power, is released. She remarked, “I really needed to make solar power because I love it so much.
Without making Solar Power, I wouldn’t be here with another album, but I think it showed me that you kind of have no choice but to be who you are supposed to be. I was sort of disappearing, and I was wafting and on the beach and thinking, “Actually, I don’t think this is me.” I’m the type of person who makes bangers that make us all laughs; I love to vibe out. That is my core, exactly.
