Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, claims that the club’s hierarchy views his team as “always being abandoned completely.”

The 51-year-old Austrian made a statement on Friday that he would leave the Eagles when his contract expires.

After the news that Marc Guehi was set to join Manchester City on the same day, he insisted at the time that his decision had nothing to do with Palace’s transfer business.

However, Glasner expressed his disappointment at the lack of support he has received to replace the players after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Sunderland.

He claimed on BBC Match of the Day, “I think we are completely abandoned.”

“I can’t blame any player,” he said. They exerted every effort, and this has been going on for months and weeks.

We don’t feel any support because the squad has 12 or 13 players available.

Selling our captain one day before a Premier League game is the worst thing, according to experts.

We are preparing, and it’s our first full week of training since September, before we sell our captain. I don’t understand this, therefore.

Because it was the 35th game of the day, I have always kept my mouth shut, but I can’t because I have to defend these players.

What should I say to the players, exactly?

When Palace defeated Manchester City in the FA Cup final in May, Glasner won the league title and placed them in the Conference League for the season.

However, Arsenal acquired Eberechi Eze from Palace in the summer, and despite starting the campaign well, the Eagles have wonless in their past 10 games.

Glasner continued, “If you get your heart torn out twice this season, it’s with Eze in the summer, and it’s with Guehi now…

What should I constantly tell the players? What should I say to them? And then I watch the performance from today’s 50 or 60 minutes; with 12 squad members present, it wasn’t easy.

The bench has children on it, and this has not happened yesterday; it has happened weeks ago. That’s the reason I’m so frustrated right now.

Glasner responded, “No, never, I would never, I would never,” when asked if he felt the urge to leave this month rather than wait until the season’s conclusion. I’ll continue playing until the end with this group of players.

“I respect their character a lot. I can tell they are disappointed and I can tell they are working hard and fighting together. No chance ever.

“I’ll be surprised if he notices Monday,” he said.

Former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given said Glasner’s outburst could abruptly end his tenure following Palace’s humiliating defeat at the Stadium of Light.

Given told BBC Match of the Day, “I’ll be surprised if he sees Monday morning, never mind the season’s conclusion.”

One of the most powerful words you can use is “abandoned.” Never have I attended a manager interview in this manner. At the football team, you could tell that he was raging with the powerful.

Nedum Onuoha, the former manager of Manchester City, concurred, claiming that the defeat on Saturday may have been the turning point for him.

According to Onuoha, “It seems like he has reached breaking point.”
