I’m a Celebrity contestants are always in the spotlight for memorable on-screen moments, but Gillian McKeith, her former campmate, has never been able to live up to her jungle experience.
This year’s I’m A Celeb has been full of laughs, arguments and jaw dropping moments from inside the camp. With tensions over cooking duties, secret snack eating emotional letters from home it’s been a whirlwind season with many viral and memorable moments on screen.
But one memorable moment that any I’m A Celebrity fan will remember is from a few years ago when fellow campmate Gillian McKeith famously fainted during a live Bushtucker trial.
McKeith, who is known for her TV show You Are What You Eat appeared in the jungle in 2010 and quickly became a fan favourite when it came to being nominated for bushtucker trials, with the public voting her for nearly every single task.
However, she is most remembered for her nomination for the “Un-fair Ground” challenge, which clearly demonstrated her willingness to support the gruesome trials.

She reluctantly crossed over to Ant and Dec, where they went over the trial’s rules and where they got their start as one of the most notable I’m A Celeb moments ever.
The TV host fell asleep in front of the camera, forcing the program to end abruptly after the first aid worker, Bob. Former Olympic gold medalist Linford Christie took over as her replacement when it was revealed that she had been withdrawn due to medical reasons when the show resumed.
Since then, McKeith has addressed the situation and disproven rumors that she did not act pale when the trial was being held. They viewed it as a deliberate move, sending social media and fans into a horde.
She explained to The Independent that she has been a victim of fainting since she was a child. I wasn’t feeling well the day before the live trial, which is the sign of passing out.
They were about to say, “Do you take this man to be your husband?,” she continued, adding that she had even fainted during a wedding. and I sat down. There are times when you can stop yourself when you’re getting close to the ground, but the jungle has all these leeches, so there’s no way I’m going to throw myself on the ground.
McKeith then claimed she has never been able to capture the moment. She continued, “I have never been able to forget that I suffocated in the jungle.”
Since I first emerged, I have been reminded that I’m a celebrity by cab drivers and other people in the street. They all discuss it as though it were yesterday. I was deemed entertaining by some. It might have been for them, but I wouldn’t be one for it!
