Gigi Hadid has offered a rare insight into her life with ex Zayn Malik as the pair continue to co-parent their daughter.
The duo share daughter Khai from their five year relationship. The pair went their separate ways in 2021, a year after Gigi gave birth. Despite their separation, the 29-year-old model insists the pair are raising their child with “love and camaraderie”.
She admitted they have a custody schedule in place and it is something they plan “months in advance”. She also revealed the pair always have each other’s back when it comes to their four-year-old daughter’s best interests.

Speaking to Vogue – where she is April 2025’s cover model – Gigi confessed her work schedule is planned around her parenting plans. While she admitted the planing is done months in advance, she admits it does change from time to time, but gives the pair of them a good basis to work from.
She said the former couple are now in a different phase of their journey, saying they are now working together “with love, and a feeling of camaraderie”. “There is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything”, she went on. “And at the end of the day, we’re not interested in giving everyone our whole story”.
She then alluded to a row Zayn is said to have had with her mother, Yolanda, following which he was charged with four counts of harassment. In September 2021, the singer pleaded no contest to the charges of allegedly pushing Yolanda into a dresser and calling her a “f****** Dutch sl**”.
Skirting over the incident, Gigi added: “What we are interested in is raising our daughter together, with so much respect for each other, and not just as co-parents, but what we’ve been through together”.
The words echo what Zayn said in July 2023. He revealed at the time he wanted to protect his daughter from a “negative back and fourth” as he spoke out on Yolanda Hadid’s fight claims. Towards the end of an interview with Call Her Daddy podcast, host Alex Cooper said to Zayn: “I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t ask about the 2021 incident. I know you can’t really speak on it. Obviously, as a man, there was a lot out there said about you and you basically took the high road and didn’t say anything about it.
” How do you balance when something is out there about your character that people are reading and people are speculating about. How do you decide when to speak about it? “
Zayn responded:” For me, like what we were talking about earlier, I don’t tend to get involved when people say things online, whether it’s something to do with me or not, because for me the most valuable thing I have in life is time and that takes so much time in a toxic environment, to explain yourself to people and justify this…
“I just kind of keep to myself. I knew what the situation was, I knew what happened and the people involved knew what happened too. That’s all I really cared about. If anybody of a sane mind would look at the situation I believe you could respect that I just didn’t want to bring attention to anything.
